Who do you think will catch the most crap in the media tomorrow? Quinn for being "overrated & choking in the big games" or Weis for not "having a significant win" on his ledger.

My guess is that Quinn will get the bulk of the media wrath tomorrow & leading up to draft day, but Weis will catch it next year when the preseason buzz begins.

i think quinn still gets a pass to the pros.
weis has to live with this one.
I do however like the fact that for the most part the pro guys on fox seem to have been taking up for notre dame somewhat. Not quite the usual other network type of crap.

Both...because reguardless, you have to agree with both arguments, Quinn didn't play well and Weis has yet to claim that "signature" win, so I think they'll both get it hard

This one will be all on Weis, Quin played a decent game, but yet a game ND didn't belong in. I knew this outcome from the beginning and ND knew the outcome before the game. Here is to a tough first half but they were the better team, we shall see in the future with Weis' guys.

Not trying to bust your chops, but would like you to define the statement "Quinn had a decent game".

15 of 35 (42.9%)
148 yards
2INTs
Only sacked once

Personally, I think he had his worst game of the last 2 years and played poorly. Ultimately, with as bad as our defense played, it wouldn't have mattered what kind of numbers Quinn put up. We were gonna lose this game. I just wonder why you think he had an OK game.

Let's change the stats as if the balls that were extremely catchable... were caught...

22 of 35 (62.8%)
~220 yards
1INT
3TDs

If that ball doesn't bounce off McKnight, that negates one INT. If Jeff catches a ball that hits him on the top of the head, that is another TD. Easily 6-7 drops total.

I can kind of see that. But if you are gonna play the "what if" game, I only think it is fair to take away some of the good breaks he got too, not just the bad breaks.

What if the other 2 balls that LSU had clear shots of intercepting were picked off? Remember BQ's first TD pass? He put the ball up for grabs by underthowing a receiver that wasn't open. Our guy made a play on theball. At least 50% of the time that pass gets knocked down and probably another 10% gets picked off. What if that play hadn't occurred?

I do think that he could have had 5 or so more passes completed. But I also think he could have had 2 more INTs. And if you add the TD pass that bounced off sharks head but subtract the lucky 1st one, TD's stay the same.

Overall, I still think it was a poor game on his part. But at least I understand where you were coming from.

it's hard to say, CW had a good gameplan on offense, until we got behind big time. can't fault him for that 1st half. you can fault him for forgetting about the run in the 2nd half. (troublesome habit by the way)

quinn started slow but seemed to settle down once walker started getting some big gains. of course our WR's had some crucial drops on 3rd down that might have keep some MO our way. (another troubling habit for #5 and #83)

i say the blame goes on the defensive side of the ball for not being able to stop simple deep routes in the middle of the field. every time we got something going it would take LSU 2 or 3 plays to march 80 yards downfield and score. i blame the safties for letting people get behind them all game long. it is impossible for an offense to get in the flow when their defense just can't make any plays.

i can fault the scheme of the defense for not playing the LSU WR's more physical. the refs were allowing some bumping, but we didn't take advantage of it. it's hard to when you are lined up 15 yards down field.

I think the bulk of the criticism will be directed at Weis. Everything from his Cocky demeanor, to his 10 year contract and $3M salary to his blowout losses in big games will probably be questioned.

Sure, BQ will be the target of a few articles too. But my bet is that Weis starts taking some heat in the press.
