I wonder if any of the national pundits next year will point out how easy their schedule is.....somehow I don't think it will be talked about.....can you imagine the crap we would take if our schedule was that easy

The way college football is set up nowadays it does not pay to have a difficult schedule, especially with the recent move to include a 12th game. I say schedule these mid-major programs and get the wins. I don't care what ND's schedule is, if we have a loss and the OSU's, Florida's, etc are undefeated with these schedules and we are not, we will not play for a NC.

Aren't you guys overlooking the soon-to-be-resurgent Illini? They might be riding the wave of their 3rd win going into that game.

I think instead of playing washington, they should have scheduled one of the michigans or ohio teams in the mid-american conference. That way when they go 3-0 against them they could say they own that conference.

Oh well,at least they play wisconsin next year so when wisconsin dumps 2-3 games they can still say they beat another team in the top 25.

Just looked at the 2007 ND schedule......it's got to be one of the top three toughest schedules in the country. Again, it's front loaded with the top teams in the country. Why do we do that???????

Look at the future schedules...Duke, Nevada, San Diego State.

ND realizes this. Plus you add the 12th game...

A few landmines is one thing, but when you have 5-7 landmines you fall out of contention fast.

As long as any team is in a BCS conf. and with a maximum 1 loss, and win their conf. championship, they have a shot to go the the championship game, no matter how easy their schedule is.

That does hurt ND a little, I'm sure at some point we'll see ND left out of a championship game because some other team had the same record but won a conf.

gah...this is BS.

They're basically guaranteed 11-1, UM is their only hard game.

Toughest? How so?

Here's the Schedule...

9-1 Georgia Tech
9-8 @ Penn State
9-15 @ Michigan
9-22 Michigan State
9-29 @ Purdue
10-6 @ UCLA
10-13 Boston College
10-20 Southern California
11-3 Navy
11-10 Air Force
11-17 Duke
11-24 @ Stanford

GT, UM, and USC are the tough ones. They will be ranked.

UCLA, PSU, and Purdue MIGHT get ranked next year...MIGHT.

BC, MSU, Navy, Duke, Air Force, and Stanford will all BLOW CHUNKS.

i think OSU's schedule is tougher than people think. Purdue is always dangerous, Michigan is Michigan, Wisconsin is a very good football team, and Penn State has the potential to be good as well.

I definately would not put Boston College in the Blow Chunks Category... they were a pretty decent team this year. And Boston College always plays tough against ND.

I somewhat agree; Assuming there is one clearcut automatic BCS championship contender and...
1. OSU were to win out next year
2. ND were to lose 1 game to, anybody really

osu would automatically be the next choice. Obviously this is purely hypothetical, but would the coaches, analysts, ESPN even bat an eye in our direction?

Ohio State has an easy schedule next year because they have to play and home and home against USC in 2008 and 2009 and a home and home against Miami (FL) in 2010 and 2011. So I think they should get an easy year, especially coming off a home and home versus Texas.

Yeah, it's been emotionally tough for me to watch them go through such a down period. It's like watching a brother have troubles with their life.

NOT.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I have enjoyed every moment of their anguish
