oaks christian just won the CA title for thier division in OT.

JC threw 3 pics to double his output for the year. 2nd time i've seen him play. he has good technique, but tries to force balls. his spiral isn't that pretty. i don't see how he can start next year. he will be decent as he learns CW's system though. his upside is pretty big. again, i really wouldn't want him under center as a frosh.

i'd like to see him hold a clipboard next year and then fight it out as a soph. for the starting job. a 5th year would be great for him. the future is bright at QB!

Well...you never know. I haven't seen Clausen play, but I don't believe that I have seen any of our Qb's other than BQ play. If next year is going to be a rebuilding year anyway, you might just go ahead and start the frosh.

don't underestimate jones or frazier, they aren't chopped liver.

Spring is going to fun to watch which of these 3 come out on top and will lead the offense.

yeah, i think that it will be great to have 4 qb's fighting it out for the job. it can do nothing but force each kid to perform at the highest level. what a great problem to have!

marv, that is the best avatar i have seen yet.

This appeared to be a very good Cardinal Newman team, or one that was very well coached.

I just watched the game and I have to admit this time around Oaks Christian looked meh to me. I'm going to watch this DeLaSalle game tonight...they're the best team in California.

The talent jump Clausen will see from high school to spring ball at ND will be astronomical. Imagine what Tenuta's GT defense will look like.

Those of you who think he can just step in and start immediately, you've got another thing coming. Or you just haven't seen him play.

Thanks for the sensible words, Jigga.

BTW, easy way to remember how to spell his name. It's Clausen with one S like Weis has one S. "We Is ND" .....one S.

don't mean to sound snotty or anal.

What did you mean when you said that "Oaks Chrsitian looked meh to me"? What does the word "meh" mean? Was this a typo?

cardinal newman is just up the road from me. they are a good team. all year they have been playing good ball, even in some adverse weather. they would have won the game if it were not for the false start near the end of the game. great coach there.

if he starts, we are in for a long season.

Clausen had one bad game. I still think he is a stud. That newman team was daring Oaks to run the ball. I think it was bad playcalling by the OC. I don't know who the starter for the irish will be next year but I think they will be fine with Charlie coaching. Just think how bad Quinn was when Weis got here. Next year we will be reloading not rebuilding.

Meh.

The collision of apathy and indifference.

Excellent definition, Nardo.

Oh, and next year's starter? Evan Sharpley. No contest. Clausen will need more time. And if either Jones or Frazer were better than Sharpley, they would've passed Sharpley on the depth chart this year.

It'll be Sharpley. Get used to it.

Now, the 2008 QB battle will be the interesting one once Sharpley graduates...

I dont know if it is that simple. If Jones or Frazer were the #2, I think Clausen might have looked elsewhere.

I honestly dont think anyone has the advantage going into next year.

I think the reason why Jones or Frazer weren't ahead of Sharpley is because no quarterback can grasp Charlie's offense in a single year in the program, especially when they weren't even there in the spring. I believe the battle is a tie between Sharpley, Jones, and Frazer, Clausen will have to learn Charlie's offense first. The man's playbook is thicker than the Bible, it takes time to learn it.
