It's almost July, but the first lines at the Golden Nugget in Vegas are out for the big games of the year - around 200 or so of them. Some interesting things here.

College Football News: 2015 Golden Nugget GOY Odds - at VegasInsider.com.

Need to better study the details, but it look like there are at least 4 teams favored to win the all:
Ohio State (surprise surprise: but a 14 point favorite over Sparty?); TCU;Boise St, and Clemson. However Clemson is barely a favorite in a number of games, so it is doubtful the finish undefeated (plus they will lose on Oct. 5). TCU's closest game appears to be -5 at Oklahoma.

Ohio State opened -17.5 against Michigan, but it has already been bet down to -13.

ND games:
-7.5 Texas
-9 @ Virginia (Boise St. is also -9 @ UVA; Boise St = ND)
-2 Georgia Tech - implies Tech is a slight edge on a neutral field (Florida State is Pick'em @ Tech)
+3.5 @ Clemson - basically equal teams on a neutral field
-14 Navy
Pick'em USC
-3 @ Pittsburgh
+3 @ Stanford (Oregon is pick'em @ Stanford)

So we have 5 games that are basically toss ups: 7-5 to 12-0, most likely will end up 9-3 based on these numbers.

Also it was surprising to me that Georgia and Alabama are a pick'em. Good be some good bets here.

Georgia will be a beast this year if they figure out the QB position.

Chasing Clemson and Stanford by very small numbers, both games on the road. USC has us even? Is that what PK means?

Either way not too bad. We're prime for a big year.

On the local radio today, one of the top handicappers said he took the Irish at -7.5 vs Texas early and expected the line to move to a higher number. The line has stayed at -7.5 so he bet it again. He is a Texas grad, and likes the Irish here with a sizable win. He also said he was betting against TCU and Baylor because they seem to be popular picks and feels their lines are too high right now.
So while some media pundits are "over-hyping" the Irish, the money seems to undervalue them. I also feel Stanford is being over-valued, and Oregon undervalued. Time to do some research - too bad I'm buried in my job and have no free time.
