Well, I'm just going to use my suburb of Columbus:

Famous person: RL Stein (the guy who wrote "Goosebumps".....). There's also a guy named Josh Radner, who is the main character in "How I Met Your Mother" (a terrible show) and Bob Green, who wrote for the Chicago Tribune or something... he has a book out about his times in my high school called "Be true to your school".

Famous athlete: depends.. a guy named Matt Stanley went on to play football for UCLA. He actually scored a TD against Ohio State in Columbus. But there was also a kid a year older than my brother who owns the world record for longest soccer throw-in.. he's double-jointed or something. His name is Michael Lockner, I think.

Marlboro, NJ

The only current famous person I know of who's originally from here is Tony Reali, the host of Around the Horn. I actually used to know him when I was younger, but I was better friends w/ his 2 brothers.

Dan Klecko lives here now, but him and his dad are originally from Colts Neck (a town over) I think. Apparently Jim Nantz lives here now too (he's originally from South Carolina), but I had no idea before I just saw it on Wikipedia. I'm kinda surprised. Marlboro's certainly not a bad area, but I'd think he could afford to live in Rumpson or someplace like that.

Apparently William McKinley's first Vice-President (Garret Hobart) grew up here too. Its amazing the crap you can learn from Wikipedia.

Marlboro is big money too, man. Rumson is OLD money. There is a difference. I lived in Navesink where the NEW money lives. One side of the Navesink River is OLD money and the Rumson side is NEW money.

Is that exit 120 or something like that? I was 117A off the Parkway.

Do you realize the stereotype you are perpetuating w/ that question?

And yeah, you'd be surprised though. They're building a ton of row homes and town houses in this area now. Certainly not low-income housing or anything, but I still think a guy lik Nantz could afford better. You don't see those castles on 5-acre plots of land in Marlboro like you do in Rumpson or Colts Neck (mainly 'cause there's no room for them here anymore).

But then again not all celebrities go for those kinds of homes I guess, even when they could afford them.
