The best system? Sorry to see that you started smoking crack. The best system is one that determines a champion without controversy. The BCS has proven that it can not do that.

or with an absolute minimum of controversy...

And you are right, the BCS has failed to do that.

It failed to eliminate controversy in 2003, 2004, and 2006. Although in 2003 it put the best teams together.

As far as I'm concerned the season is over. ND finished by being selected to the Sugar Bowl. The whole BCS/bowl system is an tired old sham that needs to go. I'm going to do my part to change it - I won't watch any of them.

If you want the system to change then you should do the same. The only way it changes is if the money dries up. The only way that happens is if the stadiums and TV ratings start bringing in WNBA numbers. But that won't happen. The public will complain about being fed a shit sandwich then take a huge bite of it.

NOT WATCH THE IRISH?????? Now that would be a "sham". I'll watch Notre Dame football until the day I leave this wonderful Earth. Do I like the BCS? NO. Do I want to watch whatever game Notre Dame plays in? YES. Do I want to see at least an 8-team playoff in the future? ABSOLUTELY. Pure and simple. I love college football and Notre Dame. I'll make due with the BCS until a playoff system is unveiled, but never turn my back on watching the Irish.

Don't forget the WeWonSixGames.com Bowl.

But hey, what the hell... the bowl system ain't pretty, but I remain unconvinced that a playoff would be the magical cure-all panacea that so many people seem to think it would be.

LSU is gonna kill us. And I'll be watching every second of it anyway. That's just how ah roll.

How are you unconvinced a playoff system would be the answer? Give every team that qualifies in the top of college football's rankings a chance to win the national championship. I love pro baseball and pro football for this reason. The regular season determines who can win consistently and the playoffs determine who the best of that group is without exception. You would have no complaints from any team or any coach. How could they argue if they lost in a playoff system? The point is that they couldn't. They'd have a shot to win the game and move on.
