Hi there. Given that we have a few new contributers, and we are at a crucial time in the College Football season, I thought I would put together a couple of guidelines for this special time of the year. Here is:
A Beginner's Guide to Weis-Era Notre Dame Football
Going Bowling! (And other post-season guidelines)
1) Notre Dame always gets the good bowls, regardless of how well they did during the season. Note: This is fine to mention amongst friends. However, in mixed company, such as a room full of Oregon Ducks, Notre Dame is perfectly well qualified for the bowl that Oregon doesn't get invited to.
2) If Notre Dame loses their bowl game this year, the football program will crumble, it will only draw 1 and 2 star recruits, and eventually will be demoted to Division Three. This rule applies every year.
Pomona. ND's home opener in 2008.
3) The signing day for NCAA college football is February 7th. Until then, it's entirely possible, and actually rather likely, that all the 5 star recruits on Rivals will become Rhodes Scholars and be retroactively enrolled for fall semester classes while attaining playbook knowledge by mind-meld with Charlie Weis. They will all commit during the All-American game, and then burst into a round of "We All Live in a Gold and Blue Submarine".
4) However, it is also entirely possible for all ND recruits to be downgraded to 1 star. They will decommit, and subsequently become recruits #1-22 on Rivals and Scout. Prepare for this possibility.
5) Should ND wind up playing Florida in a bowl, there will be Weis-Meyer stories all over the place. Remember that Urban Meyer was never our first choice, and even if he WAS, he's a turncoat benedict arnold. He could have never handled Notre Dame and would have turned Brady Quinn into Alex Smith. He also looks funny.
Behold: The future of Florida football.
6) Go Irish! Beat LSU/Michigan/Florida/Arkansas/Rutgers/Louisville/Georgia Tech/Wake Forest/Boise State/Nebraska/Oklahoma... Anyone else I forgot?
As always, add on!
