I heard somebody say that same will anchor the left side, he is playing the right side now, do we think that he is going to switch to the left or was there just a mistake. He would probably be smarter to be put on the left but we will see.
i think sam moves to the left, best feet out of all the lineman. All of our future QB's are right handed so i would suspect we want to protect them as much as possible. Duncan probably gets the nod at RT, more of a mauler which fits better on the right.
Good learning year for Sam. Made some costly penalties and missed some big blocks, though. With another year in the ND weight room and on the field under Latina's tutelage, I think we see a bigtime step forward.
No more than the four seniors that were in there with him.
Sam Young is going to step out and dominate in 2007. All you'll notice are all of the struggling new faces at the skill positions, but this line is going to be good next season. Once they get their feet wet and hit their stride, they'll get bloodying people's mouths up in time for SC's visit to South Bend.
Young has a mean streak in him which I like about him, I can remember a few times this season seeing him get into a face of an opposing player after the play. Whomever the QB of the future is will not have to worry about their blindside.
It's unfortunate the start of the our schedule is so tough. It will be difficult for the Oline to gell at first, but once they do, I have faith we're gonna be in good shape for years to come!
Young will only get better. Is there any talk of him switching to left tackle next year? I figure you usually want your best O-lineman and most exprienced protecting the QB's blind side.
Sam was solid this year. In certain games his inexperience showed but overall he was pretty solid. I don't remember him comitting to many freshmenish false starts. Morton on the other hand it seems everytime we had one was on him.(might be exagerated but it seems that way)
