That would be an incredible accomplishment considering 99% of the offense will be underclassmen.

I'm really excited for the upcoming season. This past year was tough from a fan's perspective because the expectations were so high. Next year, nobody will expect the Irish to do much. If the Irish lose their bowl game, it wouldn't surprise me if they were unranked heading into next season. As a result, Irish fans will probably be a little more relaxed for games than they were this year. Plus, it will be fun to watch young talent develop on both sides of the ball. Brady, Samardzija, and Co. will be dearly missed but I, for one, am looking forward to a new era of Irish football.

I honestly would be happy with a 7-5 record next year considering all that will be leaving and those who will be stepping up with little playing time.

My glass half full outlook is 8-4. It's a very tough schedule for a young team.

I can honestly say I have no idea how ND will do, thus, no expectations. There are SOOO many new guys that I really won't be surprised if they struggle or if they tear it up. I can not see ND beating USC or Michigan, but who knows about the rest. It pains me to say it, but Fredo may be a bit of a challenge too.

that match up with BC is BS.Too bad we didn't catch them the last two years. That will be a must win against an experienced stacked team. That game also is mid-season,so I won't look at it until the week of.

Navy has a really good chance to beat us next year. So many young guys on defense is going to hurt.

I think navy had more starting seniors then just about any footbal team this year.Of course that doesn't mean a whole lot,but most of the starters will be gone.

I think we may lose to Penn St.

And look at our season ending schedule? Very weak. Wish they were spaced out a bit more.

I just think that Navy will be able to run for alot of yards on an inexperienced defense.I know their quarterback will be back next year and he is one of, if not, the most important part of the flexbone offense. I just hope that by that time the game rolls around the starters are starting to gel and we will HOPEFULLY start to see some cohesion on defense. I dont think ND will win at Happy Valley either. Plus the Georgia Tech game will be VERY tough because all the Yellowjackets do is blitz, and combine that with an inexperienced QB and Oline and it could get messy. I dont even want to think about USC. But on the other side of things, this is a very exciting time coming up. We will have all new starters at many positions and their will be intense battles in the spring to see who gets in those positions. It is going to be fun, and heartbreaking at times, seeing new young leaders take the field and show us fans what they can do.

Against that schedule I'd sign for 8-4. If Johnson leaves Tech, they should win the opener. They should definetely beat MSU, Purdue, Navy, AF, Duke, & Stanford, so that's 7 wins already. Between PSU, Michigan, UCLA, BC, & USC they should win at least 1 one of those. They could really shock the world by winning 2 or 3. The only one I'd say they'll have pretty much no shot at is USC. The other 4 I think they at least have a chance (albeit a very small one in the UM game). The UCLA game could go either way, so that's the one I'd bet on them winning. I could see this team really getting up to play BC this year (you know, kinda like how BC always gets up to play them?). PSU, UM, and USC are the 3 that I'd be more than a little surprised to see them pull out next year.

It's hard to tell.

It's hard to tell.

I am not thrilled with change, but what I am hoping is that with new players Coach can not be so predictable. Since there is no tape on these's kids he will have the oppurtunity to try plays that did't work with our seniors. For instance Grimes is a fast kid I am guessing a 4.4 40, he can do things that bigger recivers like Mcknight and Shark couldn't. I like the fact that we won't be as predictable and with Aldridge having another year under his belt I wouldn't be suprised to see him in a pro set with Clausen under center and Walker to his left with Aldridge to his right. With new wrinkles in his playbook we might truly be able to suprise some people and maintain ball control agianst the better teams we face. So I am predicting a 11-1 record with a loss to Michigan in ot. So we still might have a shot at a title and some great recuirts. This opion does not nessecairl reflect that of that station or its affliates. Ok I am crazy but I love it.

I hope that we win 8 games next year. However, I am totally stoked to see Jimmy Clausen in 3 years!!
