He's the only sure fire first rounder on the team hands down.

Samardzija has baseball clouding his football status, plus the fact that certain teams we able to jam him rather easily this year and in the Fiesta Bowl last season. He's going to make for a nice NFL red zone WR, but average NFL corners could probably knock him off his routes unless he imrpoves his physicality.

Harris, Abiamiri and Zbikowski are Day One guys at best.

good point about shark. he is not as tough as he needs to be. i notice how he gets intimidated during physical games. he almost disappears. and i think his blocking is not impressive at all. too soft for the league. he may get drafted but, i don't see him making an impact anywhere.

i think quinn and harris are the only ones that will be gone on the first day.

I've seen him play once this year and that was the Arkansas game last Friday. He's big and he's got a nice arm.

He's got the absolute BEST pocket presence of any collegiate quarterback.
I also think the early success of Vince Young in Tennessee is helping his stock rise.

Here are his game by game numbers this season. Samardzija will go first day, but late first round to early second is more of a possibility. Jarrett and Cal Johnson are better NFL prospects and both are probably coming out for the Draft.

Harris and Abiamiri are top 5 at their positions, including any underclassmen that would decide to come out.

Abiamiri and Zib are the only likely first day picks. Maybe Walls or McNeil down the road, but as for current starters there isn't much.

The thing about defense in the NFL is there is a lot of variation in schemes that NFL DC's use, and require different sorts of players. Zibby is definately going to go to a club where his physical presence is an asset in a Safety. There are clubs who's safeties play strong against the run and less against the pass and he'll fit in nicely. Same idea with Richardson. While not a great 1v1 cover corner, there are plenty of schemes where guy with his talent and skills would be wanted and used effectively. The same goes for many other players: landri, crum etc. Whether they are wanted enough to go first round? I don't know, but they'll be drafted and we'll probably see them back on the football field somewhere down the line. I mean, can't you see Zibby returning kicks in the NFL soon?

yeah, russel is a raw talent. he has all sorts of tools, but he is still very rough. any good QB coach could take him to the next level.... but as of right now, he has some kinks to work out.... like his tendencies to throw a lot of picks when rattled (see the UT or Florida game this year). he'd be a good pick, and i wouldn't be offended if he were taken before Quinn -- in all honesty, it wouldnt necessarily be a BAD choice

Jigg, I agree with you about Shark. It doesn't seem like he can get separation from the better CB like CJ and DJ can. Everyone also raves about his hands, but he's dropped a few passes himself. He is a late 1st rounder or early 2nd rounder IMO

It's hard to assess how good Harris is when the line hasn't played well. Is he getting beat becuz he is not that good or is it becuz he is trying to make up for deficienies in the rest of the line? He's a second round guy to me

Personally, I'd be suprised if the Shark turns down playing baseball. Here are the advantages I see for him playing in the MLB:

1) More guaranteed money, even if you don't make it big.
2) Higher financial ceiling if you do make it big.
3) He's a physical freak among MLB pitchers (lefthander throwing in the mid 90s with plenty of untapped potential), while as a football player even though he has pretty good hands there are plenty of faster and plenty of bigger WRs in the NFL.
4) A career in the MLB generally does less damage to your body than one in the NFL.
