Abiamiri maybe? I doubt anyone else will, or has a shot to. I don't think Zibby will do much, if anything.

I'd like to see how Richardson would do in a scheme where he's allowed to jam the receiver at the line.

I don't think he is big enough to do anything in the NFL. He doesn't have a wide enough frame.

People said the same thing about Zorich and Flanigan, they did OK in the NFL and that is who Landri reminds me of. He is pretty quick off the ball. He could last just as long as those two.

Richardson had one hell of a season. I love that kid. Playing in schemes that bad, with teammates that bad, he came up big.

Also, Vic is supposed to be a first round choice. And I don't think it's all hype. NFL measures this stuff like it's chemistry, rather than just watching the tapes and seeing that Vic isn't a particularly good player. So he'll probably go first day, at least. Zibby maybe too, though I really don't understand why. Kiper has them both first round. Which is baffling to me. Maybe they're just secretly good?

If we have more than a couple first round pics, and our defense under-achieved that poorly. Then a change CLEARLY needs to be made with our defense and/or it's coordinators.

Also, I don't see how Crum has an NFL future. Courtney Watson is currently an NFL journeyman, and Crum could not hold his jock. He got consistently abused in the SC game, especially early. The entire first drive was on Crum.

I don't think it's hype either. The blatant holding on him this year was terrible, or his numbers, which aren't bad, would be up. Usually when you see an end with big numbers, there are other pass rushing threats to take some of the heat off. He did not have this luxury. The key with him is measurables. If he tests well, I can easily see him being a first rounder.

Zibby, I once thought could play his way into the early second. I'm not sure his coverage warrants that. But his toughness, speed and special teams potential still makes him a solid prospect. I just don't think he's ready to cover NFL receivers. The LB suggestions people like to throw around are insane. He doesn't have a LB frame.

Kiper seems to be over valuing ND guys. For example, he has Ryan Harris extremely high. I think Harris has an NFL future, but I think he is best fit for a zone blocking scheme like Atlanta or a team that uses smaller agile linemen such as Denver. When your upside is limited to certain schemes, that negatively impacts your draft stock. I see him as a second or third rounder, not top half of the first like Kiper seems to think.

Doesn't Crum have two more years? He could blossom with more time. It happens quite often.

I was wondering who would be the first person to make this connection.

Maurice Crum, in the eyes of many NFL people, is playing out of position at Notre Dame.

And if anyone can be credited with a "good" game from the SC game on defense, Richardson and Crum are two.

Also, back to Richardson- there was a story earlier this season that he was beginning to get more attention from NFL scouts. And he's maintained (to my eyes) that high level of play all season. Where will he end up? I dunno. But he'll get drafted.

I just have trouble grading a guy as having had a good game when an entire long scoring drive literally is on him. I recall a few consecutive third downs being converted due to bad plays by Crum on that drive. That's bad. I didn't really pay attention to him after that, because of course the game was over.

Crum whiffed a few times Saturday. He was in position to make tackles near the line of scrimmage, but his tackling technique was poor and those plays became big gains.

I like jigga's list:
Abiamiri
Richardson
Nedu

but I also see Laws, Liandri, Zibby, Cullen getting looks.
I could almost guarantee you , even if not drafted, Cullen will get invited to a couple of NFL teams' camps. The guy is the MVP of our special teams this year and is the second coming of Larry Izzo.

For a lot of ND players this year, their future is going to depend, a lot, on how they perform at the February combine. Quinn included I'm afraid. If you can't throw the deep ball in the NFL your value is limited. Be careful what you wish for Browns, Lions, Raiders fans.

You all have been warned ! :banghead2

He's the only sure fire first rounder on the team hands down.

Samardzija has baseball clouding his football status, plus the fact that certain teams we able to jam him rather easily this year and in the Fiesta Bowl last season. He's going to make for a nice NFL red zone WR, but average NFL corners could probably knock him off his routes unless he imrpoves his physicality.

Harris, Abiamiri and Zbikowski are Day One guys at best.

Tim Prister mentioned that SC did a good job of getting Steve Smith matched up on Crum and Jarrett on Ndukewe. They totally exposed the fact that ND safeties and linebackers are below average in pass coverage.

Hence ND's pursuit of Nagel, Paskorz and Harrison Smith as LB/S hybrids.

It sure looks that way and I expect it to happen. Top 5 at the worst.
I've heard rumblings, however, that JeMarcus Russell might be the first quarterback taken.
Regardless, Brady is a top first round pick.
I'm gonna shut up about our boy as I'm sure everyone knows my position.
I just hope he's lights out at the combine in Feb.

Yeah, I've seen this as well.

I've seen him play once this year and that was the Arkansas game last Friday. He's big and he's got a nice arm.

It may come as a shock to some on this board, but personally I would not be all that surprised in JaMarcus Russell was the first QB taken and not Quinn.
