What would be better for Notre Dame in the BCS; an Ohio State or a Michigan win?

I hope there is a bench clearing brawl started by Troy Smith that encompasses so many players that both schools are banned from bowl appearances this year.

Can't get it out of my head that if Notre Dame had just shown up against scUM back in September, this game would be for the Big Ten title and ND would be controlling their own destiny.

At least that black eye is swelling down now that it's November and there is an outside shot for all of this.

I have to agree that the Michigan win would be best. I just HATE having to say that though since they beat us so bad. I tend to hold a grudge. LOL. On the personal side I'd like to see them get beat as bad as they beat us.

considering that UM smoked us, i have to go with them. i don't see how we could jump UM to get to a title game if we finish with one loss. we could jump tOSU though, since we don't have a head to head match up.

If Michigan wins we have no chance at the title is seems to me because people wont want to see a rematch...
It doesn't much matter what the people want to see...the money men see only in dollars and ND vs a highly ranked team (and often not so highly ranked, or ranked at all) brings in the bucks.

Michigan. If OSU wins we stay behind both of them, whatever happens. That Michigan loss was too pronounced for us to jump them if they lose close, even with a win in SoCal. If we beat SoCal and Michigan beats OSU, we jump OSU.

The only way we jump a one-loss OSU team if they lose to Michigan by the same margin (or worse) than we lost to Michigan. That is not going to happen. Our best case is to have OSU destroy Michigan by 3 scores and have us beat USC by at least 10 points. Those two things (along with an Arkansas and Florida loss)...oops...those 4 things will get us into the NT game.

My perfect case scenario for the key games the remainder of the season...

OSU 38 Michigan 7 (this weekend)
Florida St 17 Florida 7 (Florida's last regular game)
ND 31 USC 21 (ND's last regular game)
West Virginia 21 Rutgers 10 (Rutgers' last game)
Florida 21 Arkansas 7 (SEC Championship game)

That would put my rankings at:

OSU 12-0
ND 11-1
Michigan 11-1
West Virgina 11-1
Arkansas 11-2

That isn't really the case. The computers would put ND ahead of Ohio St. based on schedule. If our win is impressive over USC, that would help as well as Ohio St. would be idle that week.
