In today's NFL, there are only two types of successful QBs. The traditional one (big, strong, great arm, keep defenses honest) and the new, mobile ones. Quinn doesn't fit either profile. Troy Smith does. That's the difference, whether you like it or not.

Hey retard, I was just wondering how you would classify Tom Brady, or Joe Montana? Neither big or mobile, and nether have a great arm. 7 Super Bowls though.

When you finish eating lunch with your mother please get back to me.

Quinn is not a first rounder. First of all, he doesn't have the talent. For a guy who's not very mobile, and doesn't have a good deep ball, he's a huge liability. Worse, he's inconsistent. In the parity NFL, you don't get first half mulligans. Secondly, I said this before and I'll say it again, he can't throw under pressure. Ok, he can't. Stop pretended that he can. He only does well with MAX PROTECTION. How many NFL teams can protect a QB at all. I mean, for at least 80% of the teams out there, the QB has to take hits, and almost all QBs in the NFL hear footsteps. Kinda reminds me of Drew Bledsoe, except with a lesser arm.

Quick question... what mobile QB have been successful in the NFL?

Quinn will be a a first rounder obviously. He's exactly the same size as Tom Brady, within an inch and 5 lbs of Peyton Manning and Carson Palmer.

Learn to troll better.

Quinn's very mobile for a guy his size, much more mobile than a Tom Brady, or Bledsoe. As for his arm strength, its much better than a Matt Leinart, or Chad Pennington. He's played fine under pressure(except Mich game), not great, but what NFL QB's really do play great without protection.

Quinn's not big and strong? Quinn fits that traditional mold you talk of, Smith doesn't, he's small, and while he may be mobile he's not Vick mobile, which is why Smith will be drafted in the third or fourth round. I guess you see flaws in Quinn that no other GM, or NFL scout see's huh

Your hatred for ND is interfering with your common sense. If your going to come to an opponents message board you need to try and be unbiased, its fine if you disagree, or think Quinn is overrated, but its obvisous your just trying to flame and piss people off.

I continue to insist that Quinn is not a first rounder

And you would continue to be wrong...

You can argue whether or not he is a Top 3 to 5 pick, but NO ONE (except you, apparently) is questioning whether he is a first rounder or not.

I doubt Carlson comes back, he's on pace to have a better year than Fasano, and probably won't improve his draft status much with another year. Actually he might hurt his draft status if he stays because we'll be breaking in a lot of new offensive starters.

You mean; 'get the ball thrown to him more.') And doesnt he already have a better season?

I think it would be somewhat similar to Olsen at Miami. Now being the MAIN target next season. I could only hope we have someone come back and help out some more. With him and Reuland out there, we'd have 2 solid receivers at the line alone!

I doubt he comes back, he looks solid for the NFL.

This list is a complete sellout. It makes no sense. No Alan Branch? Leon Hall is too high. David Harris probably won't be a first round pick because of a lack of pure physical talent. I continue to insist that Quinn is not a first rounder, though I think Zbikowski and Abiamiri are legit first rounders. How a Nd OL is on that list befuddles me. Samardzija, like Harris, might drop due to lack of pure talent (I don't think he has a lot of speed). Keep in mind that in the past few years, NFL teams are much more willing to gamble on talent than they are with picking a good player who may not have the best physical attributes.

LOL Quinn not a first rounder. As soon as I read this I pretty much dismissed the rest of what you had to say. Anyone with an ounce of football knowlege no matter what team you root for would find that statement absurd. NEXT

If you said that Quinn shouldn't be #1 or in top 3 or top QB long-term....whatever

But to say that he shouldn't be in the 1st round.....YOU MUST BE ON CRACK

'NFL players willing to gamble on talent rather than a good player who.....'?
Have you heard of the New England Patriots....the team is made up of good players who aren't necessarily the most talented. That's what Belichick has looked for on his teams for years. Guess he didn't get the talent memo......
