Who should be ranked higher in the polls???

It would be an absolute travesty if ND isn't higher than USC in the polls next week. They playe Ark w/o McFadden and Mustain wasn't starting. Nebraska was an ok win but not as impressive as GT at GT. And they have had closer games with lesser opponents than we had.

You should make a poll for who should be higher in the rankings and then another one for who will be higher in the rankings.

I say ND should be but USC will be. But in this case it doesn't really matter because it will be settled on Nov. 25.

Honestly I personally think that Notre Dame should be ahead of Usc, but we all know that 2 teams ahead of us lost this week in Southern Cal and Clemson and we didnt beat navy bad enough so shouldnt we drop 2 spots in the polls because of this??? (Notice the SARCASM????)

Oh yeah and one more thing. #2 Michgan and #7 Auburn barely escaped 2 not so good teams so that should drop us 2 more spots. (Once again, notice the SARCASM?)

They escaped Penn State and they escaped Northwestern. Michigan played terrible against bothe of these pitiful teams and yet the stay the same or move up in the polls on the otherhand Notre Dame would have dropped.

Its been an ugly year for the #2 teams in the nation.

Texas - lost to current #1
Notre Dame - lost to current #3
Auburn - lost to current #13
Florida - lost to current #7

ND will be ahead of SC. If they aren't I'll legitimately be surprised and confused, even knowing as I do how badly the Irish have been treated in the polls since Michigan.

SC's big wins were against Arkansas and Nebraska. Nebraska just got beat by OK State and will not be ranked next week. SC did not blow them out. Arkansas is a good, not great (probably too highly ranked right now) team, and that's at full strength. With Mustain not starting and McFadden not healthy, it's not a fair fight. They were a cupcake when SC beat them. Throw in all the near-misses to awful Pac-10 teams that SC has had (to the point that this loss shocked no one), and you have a team the pollsters should punish hard. SHOULD. We'll see if they do. But it's the only logical thing.

Penn State? They led 17-3 until 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter. They put up 312 yards versus 186. They had no turnovers. Hart rushed for over 100 yards and they got nearly 200 in passing. PSU got 7 before the end of the game...and then went 3 and out.

That's not an escape. It's a close game, but once they scored the first time, they never looked back. This was no come-from-behind victory...it really wasn't that close a game.

The Northwestern game was the same. Almost the same stats even...
The final score was 17-3. They put up 318 yards versus 191. They gave up 2 turnovers. Hart rushed for nearly 100 yards and they got just over 200 in passing. Northwestern got 3 points in the 3rd quarter (when UM was up by 10)...and that was it.

That's not an escape...that's defensive domination.

I won't be surprised...but I have low expectations of the pollsters. ;)

No debate on this one. USC deserves to fall below Nd in the polls. It will be a shame if that doesn't happen. USC did not lose to a very good team.

I do think, however, that the computers are going to like USC more than ND, so if Nd is 9th and USC is 10th, for example, USC will still be ahead of ND in the BCS standings.

I for one was cheering like hell for USC to rally last night, against Oregon State. I'm by no means a USC fan.(far from it in fact) It's just that a Irish victory over an undefeated USC team really would have helped our stock with the BCS computers. The Irish should be ranked ahead of USC but.......... The pollsters love the Trojans, and when it comes to Notre Dame......we all know how a lot of them feel about the Irish.
