People dont like Notre Dame. It's been that way for years. The best thing for us to do is sit back and watch our team win out and prove them all wrong.

Gimme a freakin' break. If "People dont like Notre Dame," why does ND have its own TV network? Why does every two-bit loser I know trip over his dick to get on the ND bandwaggon when they're winning? What other POSSIBLE explanation could their be for that senile fart Lou Doltz being employed (presumably for cash money) by ESPN?

While SIUIrish used the term "people", I'd be willing to bet that he was referring to the voters. You should be smart enough to understand that instead of attacking based on semantics.

I disagree with you. People Love and Hate ND. That's why they are on NBC for football games. Their name sells tickets and the money rolls in. Money is the name of the game here. As far as Holtz being employed, he is there to offset that moron Mark May, who Hates ND. Love (Holtz) and Hate (May). Isit clear now?

agreed...Notre Dame is the college football version of the New York Yankees...you either love them or hate them, there is almost no middle ground.

May is worse than Holtz. Together, they're the most annoying TV pairing since Regis and Kathy Lee.

Yes, among CF fans, some love ND, some hate ND. But there are a lot more people who are inclined to love them. The Lovers out number the Haters.

What's been clear for a long time is that some of you LOVE to wallow in these trumped-up affronts and other imagined insults.

So a couple of reporters rank the Irish 13th. Personally, I'd rank them 12th. One of the moderators of this forum wrote the same thing a few days ago. So why does "hating ND" have anything to do with it?

People hate Holtz because of his connection to Notre Dame and a lot of other reasons. People hate Mark May with ND circles for obvious reasons. You think WVU and Penn State fans like Mark May? Plenty of people like and dislike each guy.

Yet they keep watching.

Lee Corso acts like a friggin' goof every week and people watch. Herbstreit's insight is the balance. He played college football, Corso coached it years ago.

I really wish I could save so many of you from the clutches of ESPN and these ignorant polls. Clearly, some just don't want to be saved. You're the same people that cause traffic jams because you slowly drive past a car crash (or come to a dead stop altogether) because you just can't help yourself and have to look.

Just keep driving.

Anyone ever seen "Wake up the Echoes" (the history of ND football). Maison, I doubt you have. However, in it someone asks Ara about the 1966 Michigan State game and the ridicule he took for not going for the win. He responded by stating that ND probably gets too much credit for things they do well and too much shit for things they do poorly.

Point is, there are tons of people out there who love ND and there are tons of people out there who hate ND.

Lou Holtz on ESPN is a perfect example because the person who sits right next to him (what's his name again?) HATES ND.

I love the hate from the "Haters". It reminds me that Notre Dame IS college football. If ND wasn't, no one would care enough to go out of their way to take shots at them for any reason. NO other team gets as much credit and as much disrespect.

I've seen ND's SOS at 20 and as low as 51st.

Why you guys get so worked up over this crap I have no idea.

With one loss, I'm not going to gripe about poll position. If they had beaten scUM, they'd still be #2.
