For some reason this story really bothers me...I just dont understand why/how you can even think about young kids like that. I just dont get it and really don't want to.

Ditto on that.

I thought he claimed he was an alcoholic.

Ah, nothing like sidestepping accountability. Just blame booze and being molested for everything you do.

His spin team most likely thought alcholism wouldn't garner as much sympathy as an abuse claim.

It's the new "out" clause. Remember Rep. Patrick Kennedy two or three months ago? Same shit.
Talk about misbehaving priests. Check this out.
South Florida......den of iniquity !!

It's the new "out" clause.

Seems like it has been around longer, but with the priest abuse being in the news so much it has really taken off into new heights.

So typical in the parlance of our times, 2006. People more concerned with their rights and what they're owed, making excuses for everything they do instead of actually realizing their responsibilities and holding themselves accountable.

Does he have an alcohol problem, childhood abuse history problem, or does he have an "I like to chase young men around" problem?

I have my theory.

True dat! I'm so glad I'm out of there.

Tho' I admit that sometimes I still listen to Dan LeBatard's radio show online. With the Dolphins and Da U both stinking up the place, you hear some truly hilarious bitching.

Clarification: The article doesn't state anywhere that a priest abused him. It says a clergyman. It also says Foley is Catholic. That doesn't mean that there is a possibility that a non-Catholic clergyman abused him.

It also doesn't mean that Foley isn't throwing a clergyman under the bus for his sickness, or using the implication of priestly abuse to distract from his own pederasty.

aka liberal Democrats.

I'm an independent, big time.. I'm also a CPA that works in Finance with a bunch of hard core republicans, I have never seen a group that feels more entitled to stuff then this group. My grandpap was a democrat, though I wouldn't call him a liberal, and was in the UMWA union, and I have never seen a group of folks that worked harder for everything they got. It's not just the liberals, hope everyone on the board is smart enough to realize that.

I laughed out loud when I read that. I guess it seems too outrageous to be true. More proof that fact is stranger than fiction.

Reps to you for using the precise word.
Too many people continue to misapply the word pedophilia.
It's pederasty and its disgusting !

There are asinine people at all points on the political spectrum. About the only thing that distinguished dems and reps is that they are against whatever the other says.

Very true indeed, my wise Texas friend.

Abuse skeletons typically come out of the closet at convenient times for the abused individual. I just find that ironic most of the time.
