Although ND doesn't get much respect from FoxSports, they did have an interesting potential season listed for the Irish. Check it out.

15. Notre Dame (2-1)
L, Michigan 47-21
next game: at Michigan State
Sorry Irish haters; it’s not over. With a joke of a schedule ahead, a win at Michigan State will mean a 10-1 record going into the showdown with USC. Imagine this: Michigan loses along the way, probably at Ohio State, and the Irish blows everyone out of the water. USC is 11-0 and ranked No. 2, Notre Dame beats the Trojans and leapfrogs the West Virginia – Louisville winner, and all the one-loss SEC teams, to play for the national title

Very possible scenario. Of course I don't want to jump ahead but a win against USC at their place would be huge if they were 11-0. But the one thing that pisses me off is that ND's schedule before USC is a joke but they have the nerve to list West Virginia. WTF.

Well if you're going to lose a game, you're better of losing early. Still a lot to play for, lets hope the boys get their confidence back.

Careful what you wish for...you just might get it.

If the Ohio State game of last season and the Michigan game of this season sghow anything, it is that we aren't quite ready to play with the big boys of college football.

Not that I want us tol ose again, but I am really hoping for a winnable bowl game and not another January embarrassment. At 11-1 or 10-2 I could actually see us beibng slotted against one of the lessor BCS teams. With the added BCS game this year, we could slip in against the ACC champ (who will also have at least one loss and not be that good) or maybe the Loisville-West Va loser?

I just don't see us being ready to face another strong defensive team and hope that we draw a more offensive, less defensive orietned team for our bowl game.

ND can play with the big boys. I really disagree when people say that they can't, all you need for an example is the USC game from last year. If ND plays their game and brings their A+ game, they can play. True they lack the 4 and 5 star talent, for right now anyway, if they execute and play sound fundamental football, they can hang with anybody. If they can hang with last years USC, they can hang with anybody.

SC's defense is no joke. The O line/Running game would have to improve 10 times over to even stay on the field with them.

That game is on the road this year. Not good.

They need to win Saturday and keep on rollin'.

You are pointing to a loss as a positive? ND played their A+ perfect game against USC. Souther Cal brought their B game. Result? SC won a nailbiter.

In order to hang with the big boys of college football we need to play perfect football and they need to have an off game. That's not the same as being ready to hang with college football's elite teams in my opinion. We wimply aren't "back" just yet and I have no problem admitting it. CW has only been here for 15 games. He needs more time and more athletes.

EDIT: USC had a pourous defense last year. ND struggles with good defensive teams. We can play with more offensive football teams.

not saying it was a postive, just pointing out that if ND plays with their head out of their ass's we can play with anyone. I'm also not saying that our talent isn't lacking, just saying if ND can play a game and eliminate stupid ass mistakes like what happened saturday, we can play with just about anybody.

I don't believe that was a B+ game from USC, they gave everything they had that game, just like ND did. USC beat us on a badly spotted ball and an illegal play, but yeah, we still lost.

When CW gets his boys into the system we all know what the results should be. I am not delusional, I know we are behind OSU, Texas and USC when it comes to talent.

Yeah, we're not all the way back yet. We're close, but we can't have an off day. We can't afford to. Saturday proved that. Everybody has to be clicking for us to have a chance against bonafide Top 10 teams. I'm not reading any publications from Fox, CNNSI, ESPN or any of those sites. I'm pretty sure there are many who are taking this as an opportunity to dump on Charlie and compare his record to Ty Willingham's. Whatever. We will still have a good season.

After MSU, the schedule is really favorable on the road to Los Angeles. Very favorable.

This is a big game for many reasons, both short and long term.
