Clock Rules Petition

The new clock rules blow and shorten the game so that TV can make more money, b/c less is more. I am not one to do this stuff, but actually, I am down with this one. You know the clout ND fans have!

If this doesn't work, we should have a Saturday of not watching football...man...that would suck, but hopefully the rules will change and hopefully I am not being overly optimistic.

What is it they say about ND students? "Most students enter college hoping to change the world, only to leave those ideas behind. ND students enter college hoping to change the world, and actually do."

*shrug*

The bad coaches will whine, piss and moan about the new rules and will blame the shorter clock for why they lost.

The good coaches will adjust and win.

We have a good coach.

Ergo, I'm not signing this.

Besides, maybe this will actually get NBC to end their ND coverage sometime before midnight for once.

Our coach actually hates the rules, per articles written already that quote him. It's bullshit...Figure, when you kick off, you lose 10 seconds in the air, plus the clock starts immediately when the ball is placed for play, so you lose roughly 30 seconds of play clock on top of the time that the ball was run back during the kick off.

You lose a minute every kick off. I love watching football and the longer the game is, the better in my opinion. Just like movies...I hate seeing one & a half hour movies...I want my F'ing money's worth.

And, if you notice...you could go a couple of drives back and forth without a commercial. Now, you have a commercial every damn drive, no matter how short the previous drive was. F'ing ridiculous.

Why do I still get the feeling that Saturday's game will still creep into about the 4-hour mark?

Because NBC's ND telecasts must be as painful as possible. All TV timeouts must last long enough to completely drain the stadium of energy. It's in the contract.
