Bush hurt in Louisville game.

He had to be carted off the field and it is believed that he will miss the rest of the season. This is a tough break for him and Louisville. This would be like us losing Quinn or D Walk. I think this is huge for West Virginia. I thought Louisville could really give them a run for their money...and they still very well may. However, the Big East is a weak football conference and WVU could easy go undefeated. It's still very early, but thoughts on how this may or may not effect the national picture.

That sucks. He's quite a football player. He was a probable first rounder last year but came back. I feel really bad for him.

He broke his leg. Out for the season. Not bad, I wanted Louisville to give WVU a run for their money

No doubt, this kills Lousville, he was the best BIG back in cfb, hands down. Most of you know I like WVU and my wife unfortunately is a grad. She is a rabid WVU fan like I am for ND. We have tickets for the louisville/WVU game on 11/2 at Louisville. We both feel aweful. Would have loved to see both teams at full strength. I think WVU would beat em regardless but now it makes it easier but not easy.

WVU is a good football team and the win last year vs. Ga. in atlanta proves the can hang with anyone. Slaton is the best back in the country in my eyes(i know I'll hear it on this one) and White is perfect for that system. But they need to improve on defense, I didn't love what I saw on saturday against marshall even though they only gave up 10 pts. I really believe they'll lose one becuase of this.

Other than WVU getting an easier ride, it really doesn't impact anything else.

I don't know that this kills Louisville. I thought they were the better team than WVU last year. They just lost a very very close game to them. Louisville still has one of the best QB's in the game, good receivers and a pretty solid defense. They can hang with Miami and I would not be surprised to see them sweep the Big East. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised to see WVU do it, either.

Scoop well said, they are still a pretty good team, but I doubt they could beat miami and WVU without Bush, and that kills thier NC chances. That is why I said kill. Who knows though.

Looks like opponents that play Louisville will drop into coverage now and Brohm will suffer. Man it hurts to see somebody go down. Louisville will win 6 games this year. I thought they would make a BCS game this year.

Suck it Louisville...I enjoyed that as much as I enjoyed Carson Palmer's busted leg. Being a Memphis fan, I hate Lville as much as USC or Mich on the ND side of things.

I can't ever enjoy seeing a kid injured no matter how much I hate the team. The kid was a football player...I hate UL as much as the next guy but never enjoy someone getting injured. Very poor post!

I don't think this changes much. I still have them beating WVU but losing to Miami. I didn't expect them to be a national title contender anyway, so I don't cheer the injury.

He has a 5th year...he'll be fine. Like you said, "He is a football player." When you step out on that field, you know that you could get hurt...big deal, it's part of the game. I don't worry about, b/c medicine and technology are so good that you really don't lose much, but the team loses quite a bit.

If this was a decade ago and the kid would have lost NFL dollars, I would feel a little worse, but he is a tough guy, I'm sure a little broken leg won't bother him. Now, if he died or was paralyzed, it would be a different story.

(BTW, I notice how you omitted Carson Palmer from your post. Is this a Freudian slip or a conscious happiness for his injury?)

That's really heartbreaking. I have heard he was a good kid who earned respect through his playing. His leg is broken in two places they say...this may be the end of his college career. Hopefully that will not be the end of an NFL dreams.

I can only wish him the best of luck.
