Most aggravating part of the article:

* The name "Apache" linebacker has been retired and ND will go with more traditional names to differentiate its linebacker spots this fall - Mike, Will and Sam - because of concerns about whether the "Apache" name could be offensive to Native Americans.

The world will not end with fire and brimstone but with sentimentality and political correctness.

Irishfan: Thanks for the run down. I have had no luck getting any of the new videos. Your post was a great help.

It could only be worse if they put Bhudda and Muhammad next to TD Jesus, holding hands.

"I've created a two-way monster here," said Irish coach Charlie Weis.

hahaha...gotta love that.

I hope TT becomes a pure animal at LB. We need some bodies on D... He's been great on Special teams, so if he can transfer that tackling ability over to D...that would be awesome.

I am so happy Weis is doing this, because it almost never works.

You should never move a guy out of his natural position no matter what. I understand the tempation (you have holes at LB, and you want to see if a LB can fill that gap). Well, he most likely won't. The only transition that might work is the one from WR to CB, but that's it.

This is a rookie mistake. I'm not saying we don't do it (Burgess and Paul were five stars, and their superior physical talent has been wasted), but it's still wrong in almost all cases.

Please don't ever compare Charlie Weis' decisions to Llloyd Carr's decisions!

You are clearly forgetting that RB is not TT's natural position. He has played a number of roles on Defense before.

By the way, maybe you missed hearing about a guy named Tony Driver? Or was it Arnaz Battle? Or David Givens?

How long is a Michigan troll going to be allowed to run amok here?

LOL

Well its a valid point not stated perfectly. There are always challenges with changing positions for players.

In this case, I think it's unjustified. TT has D experience and loads of special teams experience. He will do fine at LB.

VictorsValiant, TT played outside linebacker in high school. He probably should have been moved there two years ago. I think his speed will help out alot. Lloyd "I blow it every year" Carr sucks anyway.

I realize this is ancient history. But you you may want to take a look at ND's 88 roster. A backup TE and backup FB became an all-American caliber OT and DL, respectively. And a backup WR became a starting safety that made some of the biggest defensive plays in Notre Dame history.

It never ceases to amaze me how much UM fans talk, especially in years after one of their (very common) beatings by ND.

There are good ones who are fun to converse with. (maison blue comes to mind) and their are those who make their subtle and week attemps at trolling. The good thing is, Michigan is early and maybe we can soon be through with some of this crap for awhile.
