Pick any aspect you'd like, by position, by group(db's, d-line, etc), by team(off, def, st). Note I meant this years team by 2007.

I believe we will see the most improvement in the following three areas:

D-line - I think we are really going to suprise a lot people here. Frome, laws, abi, landri, talley are all going to improve a lot from last year. I agree with everybody about Hand as being a sleeper as well.

db's - while I don't think we were as bad as what people said last year, I do think we will make more plays this year. Also, the improvement in D-line will really help the DB's tremendously.

drum roll... I believe the biggest improvement over last yr's team will be....

COACHING - CW did an awesome job last year, period. But don't forget he wasn't even a head coach(at a meaningful level) prior to last year. IMO, he sometimes got caugt too much in the moment and admitted at the SC pep rally the MSU game was mostly his fault. I think if he had to do it all over again he calls a TO before Reggie Push happens. He spent most of his time on the offense becuase of timing of employment. With his hard-working, humble, yet confident approach, I think he will improve every year. But this year will be the biggest. I wouldn't want any other guy as our coach.

Thoughts??

Pass rush. That could come from the line, or the LB's. But I think (hope, pray, beg, plead, will, etc.) that it will improve.

I agree with you that the DB's were not as bad as some think, outside of blown assignments and biting too hard by the safeties. I think this area will improve as well.

The continuity that comes with most of the defensive starters returning will allow them to show multiple and varied "packages" this year. It was pretty easy to game plan against the Irish last year, from an offensive perspective. This year, offensive coordinators are gonna see some different looks from our D.
That's going to help immensely.
From an individual standpoint, everyone will be better which will allow, and I hope I see, Rick running alot of fresh legs and different looks at these offenses.

Our D line is going to make the biggest improvement...which is going to make our Dbacks vastly improved. We are going to see the sack and tackles for loss numbers go up significantly.

I agree with the coaching aspect. Another year under his belt. With coaching for all of them everything else falls into place.

I look for the D-line to be much improved. Charley got tapes of the best pro pass rushers for Abimiri to study and spent time with the Defensive coaches of a top pro defence during the summer. I look for a lot of opposing QB's to be trying to throw from their backsides.

I also look for Richardson and Wooden to be impressive. Richardson made some outstanding plays last year and he will get better. I think our Defense will be gaining accolades from all the talking heads by the third or fourth game.

GOOooo Irish !!

I concur. But then, they have the most ground to cover.

The pass rush will make the biggest difference, IMHO.
