Chicago White Sox

I'm out of the loop of Chicago sports, but........
Seems to me that the players have now grown tired of Ozzie.
You always hear that pros should not "call out" their teamates in public.
Disagreements and strife are to be handled "in-house."
What then of Ozzie's tirade in the dugout against his own pitcher the other day?
Are ominous clouds looming on the South Side?

Love Ozzie......but he is a complete nut. Garland should have knocked his head off the other day. He's not afraid to make his players look like fools on national tv........I'm sure they are a little resentful of that. No respect.

I was at that game on Sunday.

The issue was dealt with and is over. They have bigger problems than that incident, seeing as how that game was the only one they won this week thus far.

They are in a slump right now. If it continues, the slump will become a meltdown. Right now, it is a slump and nothing more. Look at the teams they've played and how they've been playing. If they stink against Baltimore and KC, then they'll be done for. If the slump becomes a month long affair, then there are bigger issues going on.

Guillen needs to shut his mouth and manage the team. If it isn't Buck Showalter, it's Jay Mariotti or Andy Van Slyke or Ryan Dempster or someone else he's barbing with in the papers. Shut up and manage the team. It wasn't that cute to some of us when they were winning.

If the Tigers and Twins continue at this pace, more power to them. They'll win over 100 games. Personally, I don't see it. Maybe the Twins have made their run. Detroit is bound to hit a rough patch at some point this year...every team does.

These next two series for the Sox will tell us if those ominous clouds will pass or if the storm is stronger than we think.

Being a Red Sox fan, I'll claim we have the best infield defense and best 3-4 hitters in ALL of baseball.
That said, the White Sox have the best TEAM in all of baseball.
Minnesota has to cool off. Detroit will too, I think. But 8.5 out is a tall order
and any thing short of a wild card will be blamed on Ozzie, whether it's his burden to bear or not.

I agree.

And would you have ever thought this in light of the team's history?

I love Theo Epstein as a General Manager. Boston has money to spend and a stacked farm systerm. Papelbon and Lester are gems.

Yeah I love our team, Julian Tavarez and Rudy Seanez aside, I just hope Theo doesn't do anything drastic this weekend and mistakenly ship off our great young arms for
some other "over the hill" pitcher (John Lieber) or superfluous infielder (Julio Lugo).
There are rumblings that some such nonsense might be going down as we speak.

I've said for a while now, that the Tigers would eventually slow down/tire out. Just like the Twins did during the year of contraction. It's just that they keep on winning.

Personally, I'm a Twins fan, and you all have to admit, they've been playing fun and exciting baseball. I don't know if they make the playoffs, but it's been a great ride. What makes it even more special? A small-market team competing with all the heavy-spenders. You gotta love that.

You guys got two of three best lefties in baseball (Liriano & Santana).
Scott Kazmir being the third.
Anyone for John Lester (Red Sox) for the fourth? Ahh, maybe not quite yet.

The Twins also got two of the best young left-handed hitters as well, the M&Ms. However, they're, not on par with Ortiz and Ramirez yet.
