-Lippi is stepping down as coach of Italy. He decided this before the Austrailia game and was going to step down regardless of how the team finished. Italy is 16-0-9 under Lippi in their last 25 matches. Former Italy and AC Milan midfielder Roberto Donadoni could fill the position.

-Klinsmann steps down as Germany's coach, sighting burn out and family time as his reasons. Speculation is that after his 6 month hiatus he will sign on to be the next USA coach.

-Reports are that Marco Materazzi remarked to Zidane, "I wish an ugly death on you and your family. Go f*ck yourself." Zidane is expected to comment on the situation later as well.

Cannavaro is signing with Real Madrid.

This is the equivalent of Johnny Damon signing with the Yankees, only Cannavaro isn't coming from an arch rival.

Real is going after Zambrotta as well since Juventus is being relegated.
