1. Brady stays healthy all season
2. Walker and thomas become a super running back duo ( dare i say like Bush and white )
3. Fullbacks perform more consistantly ( they should be good for a least 3 yards per carry when needed)
4. Better pass rush, i mean blast through and in that qbs face
5. better play in the secondary. We are going to see some realy good qb,wr tandems this year so they need to play quite a bit better
6. Tom Zbikowski needs to keep up his intencity, I mean that guy is a one man wrecking crew

That is for the most part what i can see. What can you see right off the bat?

1. Brady remains healthy
2. McKnight returns right where he left off
3. Our pass rush improves
4. We get a little bit of luck

Good topic, btw.

1. agree (and I like our chances)
2. I would agree to consistent play at RB position (and I like our chances)
3. I am looking forward to seeing Schmidt as a TB in short yardage situations with Schwapp as the FB. And put in Stewart and his 340 lbs at OG. (and I like our chances)
4. Better pass rush is a must. I think with more experience and a healthy Abiamiri this might become true.
5. Better communication in the secondary, Bill Lewis is a great coach and he has 4 returning starters + freshmen & sophs really pushing for playing time. Plus a better pass rush will improve any secondary.
6. Agree, intensity is never his problem. It seemed to me that he bit on too many play action fakes (I am no expert) solve that problem and we should be just fine.

I'll add
7. We really need a couple of guys to step up and play LB - replacing 2 starters is never easy.
8. Special teams need to be consistent - a new Field goal kicker and a new punter.

I believe McKnight has been working very hard, and will show it on the field due to his disapointment not being ablr to play the last ten games due to his injury last year.

Now as for replacing the linebackers. if the staff was smart early last season they were probably already thinking ahead. They knew they were loosing them, so i think someone will step up, just not sure who yet.

LUCK..............Schwapp's forward momentum had been stopped at the goal line last year in the MSU game when they decided to call a fumble after being pushed 5 feet into the backfield.......would have been the go ahead score. USC.......so close......4th and 9/the remaining seconds.....nuff said. ND would have played Texas in the NC game if for just a tiny bit of luck here and there.

I'd like to add to the list a non-playing field related item. That Pat Haden get fired or gets caught with a transvestite or something. I'm sick of listening to an ex-USC QB do our games on NBC, all of the previous suggestions and that would make for a succesful season.

I like Pat Haden doing the ND games. I would like to see Tom Hammond replaced, he looks like the walking dead. Now that Tony Roberts is out of a job... Anyways, all the analyst that I can remember have always had non-ND ties. Bill Walsh (Standford), there was Todd Christianson (BYU) Haden (USC)

Charlie Jones and Todd Christiansen were the best combo of announcers on NBC that have done ND games...hands down.

I'd agree with Brady's health being first. I'd put improved pass rush as a strong second.

1. No question.
2. Bush and White= No way. On or off the field, I might add.
3. Schwapp is no longer a freshmen.
4. No question.
5. No question.
6. No worries.

For me, the list is an easy one. You can find it in just about every locker room in college football.

1. Block
2. Tackle
3. Protect the football on offense
4. Force tunrovers on defense
5. Eliminate Big Plays on defense
6. Solid kicking game
7. Stay Healthy
8. Win Every Home Game
