I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me with an updated 2007 wish list of who you think/hope we end up with when this whole crazy process is done with. For what its worth i'll give a list of guys and let me know how accurate it is and which guys you think we will get.

QB: Jimmy Clausen CA
RB: Marc Tyler CA and Robert Hughes IL
WR: Duval Kamara NJ, Arrelious Benn DC, and Greg Little NC
TE: Mike Ragone NJ
OT: Ryan Miller CO, Lee Ziemba AR, and Matt Romine OK
OG: James Wilson FL and Miles Stroter IL
DE: Kerry Neal NC, Ben Martin OH, and Justin Trattou NJ
DT: Marvin Austin DC, Joseph Barksdale MI, and Miles Wade OR
OLB: Aaron Nagel IL, Steve Paskorz PA, and Martez Wilson IL
MLB: Brian Smith OK
CB: Eric Berry GA and Golden Tate TN
S: Michael Williams CA and Lorenzo Edwards FL

This is very wishful thinking but I was just looking for feedback on how realistic our chances are of landing each of these prospects and/or any other prospects that should be included.

I have to say, that list is a little different from what I have seen, but you never know!

Maybe we should all start our predictions with:

"In the year 2000...."

...Jimmy Clausen, the nation's #1 QB will announce his commitment to the University of Notre Dame at the College Football Hall of Fame after arriving in a stretch limo. His reasoning? Choosing Notre Dame was a business decision.

In the year 2000...

Golden Tate will not receive an offer from the Irish. When asked why he did not offer, Charlie Weis simply responded, "Any guy who will not leave the line of scrimmage to block for his fellow teammates is not a Notre Dame guy!"

In the year 2000!!!

Notre Dame will again clean house on the offensive line by getting verbals from their Top 5 guys. Pete Carroll never recovers from losing Sam Young, accepts the fact that he will always be in Charlie's shadow, and returns to the NFL where he will wallow in mediocrity.

sorry, the list I created was more of a wish list than a crystal ball prediction. I wouldn't put money down on that exact group of players signing in February.

What about Ben Martin and I don't think Little is going to end up at Notre Dame if they get Benn. Because I think Little wants to be the main guy and he be won't if they both go to the same college. Also the way he talks, I am not getting my hopes up for Tyler. I think he is all USC.

LOL, when I opened this, I thought 'Crystal Ball' was the name of a recruit.

My Odds

QB: Jimmy Clausen CA 100%
RB: Marc Tyler CA 40%and Robert Hughes IL?
WR: Duval Kamara 100%, Arrelious Benn DC 92% , and Greg Little NC 45%---mainly for the reasons iloveirish gave
TE: Mike Ragone NJ 100%
OT: Ryan Miller CO 55%---Colorado leads now, but I think Miller will take his time, which works in our favor, Lee Ziemba AR 60%---Arkansas will be a recruiting hotbed for Notre Dame, primarily because there is no in-state powerhouse. Other schools are chasing him---such as USC---and I'm intentionally lowering the percentage because of the big-name programs.. so I think we're probably better off with Ziemba than my conservative 60%, and Matt Romine OK no clue, but I'd say around 50%. If he leaves Oklahoma it's either for us or Texas (?)
OG: James Wilson FL 15%and Miles Stroter IL probably won't get an offer
DE: Kerry Neal NC 100%, Ben Martin OH 95%, and Justin Trattou NJ 100%
DT: Marvin Austin DC 0%, Joseph Barksdale MI 33%, and Miles Wade OR ?
OLB: Aaron Nagel IL 100%, Steve Paskorz PA 100%, and Martez Wilson IL 80%---I love this guy, btw
MLB: Brian Smith OK ?
CB: Eric Berry GA 5%and Golden Tate TN 90%---he'll get an offer, I think it's just a matter of time.. and he deserves one, too
S: Michael Williams CA 98%and Lorenzo Edwards FL 60%

I think Harrison Smith is a definite on that list, and I'd love to see Marcus Gilchrist in the Gold and Blue... he's extremely talented and a threat anywhere on the field..... except OG, but maybe.....

Oglaigh...on what grounds to you think Golden Tate "deserves one"? I don't like hating on a kid, but I just don't think he is ND caliber. We are at a point where we can deny guys like this if we want. Under Ty, I would have been happy to get Tate, but this is a new age of recruiting.

I guess the last thing I will say is keep in mind that his competition is God awful. Tate was shut down four times last year. Once by MBA who is really good & is in the highest Division of TN football. Once by Fr Ryan who is in the highest division of TN Football but is bottom of the barrel. And, twice by ECS who is in Tate's Division and is repeatedly crushed by the upper Division schools.

Oaks Christian plays in a lower league, but California schools still have more talent than TN schools in the lower divisions. It is not hard to look like a super star when you play in the Lower Tier of TN schools.

Anyway, that is what I have to offer...just something to chew on. I could be totally wrong, but I trust my sources on Tate who knock his production, his lack of team play, and the fact that a lot of D-1 programs haven't offered him & really aren't considering offering him. Chris Donald, however, is a different story.
