Today, I discovered an interesting piece of memorabilia while perusing an antique show (definitely not my usual dig, but I took an interested family member). It's likely that this ticket is not ultra rare, but it certainly brought a smile to my face. That is until I recalled the history behind it...

For those who may not immediately know, 1942 was the year when Notre Dame and Michigan renewed their rivalry after a 30 plus year hiatus. The game was played at our beloved House that Rockne Built to a capacity crowd of 57,500. Unfortunately, Michigan ended up beating us 32-20.

In 1943, under the leadership of Coach Frank Leahy, we returned the favor, and stomped the Wolverines 35-12 at Michigan Stadium (in front of a record 85,688 fans). It was during this historic year that we would win our 4th National Championship.

It will be sad when this rivalry ends, even if only temporarily. I've always enjoyed relishing in the level of disgust I have for the University of Michigan during game weeks.
Anyway, just a little visual history, my Irish brothers...
