Credit to Irish Illustrated for these quotes. Toku Pratt Davies is a 6-2, 350 offensive guard/defensive tackle. Another New Jersey kid. I'd like to see video on him.

"...Notre Dame has been sending some letters. I'm kind of partial about Notre Dame. I would like to go there. They have good coaches and it's a good academic school."

"I prefer defensive tackle," he said. "It's more of an exciting position. You get to do more and can mix it up a little."

Antoher DT from Bloomington Central Catholic in IL Josh Brent had this to say on superprep.com

My offers are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota,” Josh Brent said.

“My favorites are Notre Dame, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana and Northwestern.

What interests me most about this kid is that he was supposed to go to the Scout combine at Iowa on April 22nd. Guess where he's going instead?

Kind of beefy for a 6'2" kid but I'll take him. We need a big monster on the d-line.
Guarenteed if we offer him he's ours.

Yeah Indy, I'd like to see video of him moving around. There are DTs out there who like ND, but they are of 3-star caliber quality and might not be ready to step in right away.

I still hope for Barksdale and Wade, plus two more. Pratt Davies and Will Blackwell would make a nice foursome.

I'm starting to feel that Marvin Austin is going elsewhere.

I don't get your feeling that Austin is going elsewhere. He and Benn have both said that they speak frequently and would enjoy going to the same school. I believe we are in good shape for Benn. That being said, each of them will make the choice that is appropriate for them.

Unless you have more than a fist pump in an interview to go on, I think we are in pretty good shape for Austin.

When Benn did the interviewing, Austin briefly mentions ND. He spoke glowingly of USC, Penn State and Florida State. Mentioned SC a handful of times.

Clausen and Benn could end up being the next two verbals, but don't expect Marvin Austin and Marc Tyler in packaged deals. You'll be disappointed.

Again, just formulating this based on what I've been reading and told. Austin doesn't have ND high on the brain.

"I am excited about all of the attention. When you have programs like Florida State, Penn State, Southern Cal, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland and 30 others offering a scholarship it gives you a sense of accomplishment.

This Rivals quote speaks volumes for me. He names UVA and Maryland but not Notre Dame.

"I'll look at graduation rates, players going to the next level and a place with good players, where first round draft picks come from," he said. "I know Miami is a great program, that they have great players and send players to the league every year.

He just drops the academics in there casually at the beginning. Graudation rates and yadda yadda football. From the sounds of it, he loves football gladiator camps like USC, Florida State and Miami.

I"m sure Weis will push and go after him, but for how long? If he isn't interested, move on. I think Austin wants to play football well into his future, and that's fine. But clearly he wants to take the best route that will get him there.

Remember what you said about guys who don't belong at ND. This might be one of them. He seems like a Miami type of kid. Now maybe Im wrong, but I don't think he is really that interested in getting an education. He just wants to play ball, not go to school, and get hot
chicks. Again you can do that in places like USC Miami FSU.

It would be huge if he came though he looks like a bad MF'er. on the field.

Unfortunately, I agree with you Indy. Not that I know him or want to judge, but look at the quotes. Places where first round picks come from? SC and Miami all the way.
