From Scout.com

"Right now, my favorites are Florida State, Michigan, Miami(FL), USC, Texas, Ohio State, and Notre Dame," Allen said.

A who's who of college football right there.

It would appear that ND has a better shot at Ronald Johnson than Dionte Allen.

Hopefully the are going after Gilchrist hard too because Allen and Berry are going to be tough gets. Walls and McNeil will scare off a lot of kids.

I saw Rivals video the other day and Mark Barnes said Notre Dame first on his list. I don't know how much the order of sequence means when these guys give their lists of schools, but food for thought.

Eric Berry had this to say on Irish Eyes:

“Tennessee is out front a little bit,” Berry said. “I like their coaches. They can’t feed me with a lot of stuff that isn’t true because my dad [James Berry] went there and he played with almost all the coaches. We sat down in the room they just kept it real.

He likes ND and is interested, but his dad was a Vol.

Johnson and Gilchrist could end up being key targets for ND at CB. And that's not a bad thing. But at this point, I think the two best guys on the board are Allen and Berry.

Yeah McNeil and Walls have great potential and it wouldn't kill me if Allen didn't come.

Just curious maybe a stupid question, but with the receivers brought in last year and some highly touted recruits possibly this year, did Gallup play any D in high school. I know he racked up a ton of yards and TDs on offense, but what does anyone think of him in the secondary, he has tremendous speed.

You're not the first person to mention this. However, I think he is being counted on as a receiver and especially as a return man early on. Kickoff returns are going to be a whole new world for us ND fans. Lambert appears to be emerging, add in Grimes, West, McNeil, Gallup and others.

I know he played WR and RB, but I'm not sure about defense.

Hopefully the only kickoffs we see are to start the game or half. I'd rather they not receive too many kickoffs. It just means the defense is being scored upon.

After thinking about it, the sequence of schools may not be very relevant. But, I still would like to see ND listed first.

WR Taurian Washington tells Irish Eyes that he and fellow Michigan prospect Dionte Allen are going to the spring game together in South Bend.

I'm going down the their spring game with Dionte [Allen],” Washington said of his April 22 trip to South Bend. “I’m just going down to hang out and to see what it’s all about."

Washington is a 6-0, 170 WR from Orchard Lake MI Saint Mary's Prep. He was at ND's Junior Day in January. His offer list is a who's who among the Big 11.

But the story here is that Dionte Allen will be at the ND spring game. Hopefully it is more to him than just a sight seeing trip. And if it is, maybe he'll leave seeing ND as more than that.
