Random Recruiting Thoughts

I was just listening to some old Irish Eyes Power Hours (particularly the one where Blair Keil comes on) and heard some interesting recruiting info.

They were saying that ND was (it was recorded about 4 weeks ago, so there's no telling whether or not things have changed since) in great shape with LB Lorenzo Edwards (who, judging by his offers looks like a 5 star caliber player). They mentioned LB Steve Paskorz had ND in his top 2-3. Frank also flat out predicted that ND was going to get DE Justin Trattou. And that they thought that Florida and Notre Dame were both looking very good for Siddell Corley.

Which sounds really good to me. Especially since it appears as though we we've got a good chance to grab Marvin Austin, Myles Wade and Gary Gray.

They also mentioned that it looks like Devon Torrence is going to OSU. And it sounds like, if we offer Greg Little we'll have a good shot at him. This is especially promising to me because I think Tyler is going to go to USC and Little doubles as a RB.

I wonder where Edwards will be best suited... right now, with 4.77 speed (rivals), he seems a bit slow for safety.. his size makes me think he'll be a LB for sure.

On the topic of recruiting, does anyone know what was said in the most recent 'inside the tunnel'?

Not sure on Inside the Tunnel....

Edwards would make a nice Apache type of player. He has already said he's running track and going to speed camps once school lets out. I like him at outside linebacker with Nagel, this way ND can go after Mark Barnes and Major Wright at safety.

There might be some truth to Tyler leaning to USC, but he has come out and said that the comments his teammate made to Rivals weren't 100% accurate and ND is still in the running. If Jim Clausen is as strong of an ND lean as they're saying, Tyler is going to at least have to take a good peek since they're buddies.

Corley's dad would have no problem moving back to Chicago is Sidell picks ND. Little has been eagerly anticipating an offer from ND for weeks. With Kerry Neal as a probable DE, Trattou, Ben Martin and Corley could vie for the two other spots...I think ND would want at least 2 DE, most likely three.

I agree with Mike Frank and have thought for almost over a month now that Trattou is a strong ND lean...just based on some of what he has been quoted as saying thus far.
