In another article, he stated he will visit Ole Miss because they have Jimmy Clausen "high on their list."

Does this mean he is another one that is going with Jimmy Clausen?

Thats way Clausen could be the biggest commit in years and for years to come.

Too bad everyone coming with Clausen is either a receiver or running back.

Does he know any linebackers or DTs?

Tyler is supposed to be a pretty good LB as well.

RB is always a good position to recruit because many of them are the best athletes on their high school teams. Many are very versatile. Courtney Watson came to ND as a two star running back. I'd love to have him around right about now. Each of the RB's in the incoming class has been linked at some point or another to defensive potential. Scout actually listed Aldridge as a LB early on, and from the sounds of it, Prince tore it up on defense this season.

Tyler is best suited for RB in College, Little at WR.

Tyler and Aldridge together would be scary. I hope it happens.

I'd like to see ND land Andrew Dailey, Marshall Williams and Richetti Jones at LB. Jones is a HS DE and they list his 40 time at 4.78. Then you see him play and how he comes off the edge...whoo-ah! This guy eats QB's for breakfast. 6-3, 234 would make a nice OLB.

I'm not suggesting Tyler as a LB target. I'm just pointing out the versatility of many running backs. They tend to be the best athletes on many high school teams.

I'm getting mixed feedback on this. Some reports I read say Tyler hasn't played there since he was a freshman, others say he's a stud.

If he is the only RB they take this year, I wouldn't feel bad about it. I'd still take two, though.

I'd like to always take at least two rb's. Of course, I'd include in this number a fullback every so often. RB's bring so many different styles and tools to the game. And if you have a glut of them, pick some that can help elsewhere such as wideout, DB, or LB.

Hey if you can out score everyone you don't need a defense, right?

PLEASE, don't ever adopt this football philosophy if you live to be 350 years old!!

Like teaching your kids to "Just Say No", make them believe in defense. And keep them away from ESPN because no matter what the sport, ESPN will not show them any defense (pitching, QB sacks, an NBA player that actually plays Defense, etc) at all on their network.

Weis might be an offensive Einstein, but the more games he coaches the more they get taped. There are plenty of good defensive minds out there that can figure things out with enough time and tape.

He'll need a stellar D to win him some games....and titles.

Any updates on Greg Little. From what I can tell he is interested in ND but has not yet received an offer. He does have an offer from Duke - do not think academics are a problem.

That makes sense. Academics are always a concern.

He's still waiting for an offer. From the way it sounds, he really wants one so ND can be an option for him.

As of late, getting an offer from ND is almost like an honor for some guys that really don't have a high interest or are interested at all. Almost like a badge to show the other schools recruiting them.

It looks that way, Ohio.

Benn is telling the experts he's more likely to follow Clausen and I think Tyler being like Clausen's brother will help the cause. Austin could see good minutes as a frosh just from lack of depth alone, let alone the fact the kid has an Energizer motor.

I like Little at WR.

Just an aside. I think Luke Schmidt will be ND's Mike Alstott. He's just a tough kid and he's a beast of a ballplayer.

Absolutely agree! Is Minter the guy???? CW wanted Al Groh and his head coach wouldn't let him talk to ND. Do we need a better Defensive coach????

And what did Golden's defense do with year with all world NFL caliber linebackers? He's a better recruiter than DC.

And what did Minter's defense do? We need help at Defensive coordinator.

I honestly think that Minter is not a long term answer for this job, but I wonder if Weis thinks that too. Minter has opened up doors in Ohio for recruiting, but I'm not sure that he has the charisma to get young kids excited to play in his system.

Al Golden is a good recruiter and was Weis' first choice, yes. If Minter's 11 can't cut the mustard, I doubt Charlie will be sentimental and resist making a change.

I'm not saying Minter's the answer, but the comparison is not fair, either. Golden had been with the program for a few years, the kids had a few years on the system and he had more experienced and established talent, especially at LB. And last year wasn't the first year a loaded Golden UVA defense underachieved.
