He has offers from Ole Miss, LSU and Florida State amongst others. Probably a DE in college. Notre Dame is considered a long shot. Could end up being Ole Miss and LSU duking it out for him.

Is DE a given? A lot of the best DT's and OL for that matter, come in quick and smaller and grow into the role while retaining quickness. Warren Sapp came in as a TE, so I'm sure he wasn't too heavy.

This class needs at least one guy and hopefully two who can come in at least 285 pounds and contribute now. But Not everybody will be needed the next season.

Weis is in contact often with Dionte Allen and it has been mentioned by Gary Gray that Weis is courting Gray personally.

Seems Weis has two corners pretty high on his radar.

It seems that with or without an offer, Notre Dame is making the short list of a lot of kids when it comes to their interest.

ND certainly won't land all of these guys, but just to be in the early running gives them a foundation to build on....

Ryan Broyles, 5-11 160 CB from Norman OK likes ND, but it is hard to imagine OU or Texas not being able to grab this guy.

Jack Cornell, 6-6 285 OL from Notre Dame HS in Quincy IL. He is one of our best here, a first team all stater as a junior. Missouri and Illinois will be in pursuit.

Everson Griffen, 6-4 265 athlete from Arizona. Look at his size and note he is listed as athlete. Yikes. DE or DT prospect that Arizona State could have an edge with. This guy is awesome, though.

Shaquan Hicks, 6-4 325 OL from Macon GA. Likes UGA, Auburn, Clemson and ND. Benching 440 lbs.

Derek Drummond, 6-4 220 TE from Pittsburgh. Was said to have attended the ND-Providence basketball game back in January. Needs more weight, but I like his athleticism such that he could play some DE in college. With Hiben's departure and the possible need for two TE in this next class, keep an eye out for him.

I agree on the TE part what I want to see are some extremely dominating DT's giving their verbal. I realize we have a long way and a lot of time to go but that doesn't stop me from being anxious anyway.

Luther Davis says ND is in hot pursuit. They want him to make an unofficial during spring ball. LSU and Ole miss probably have the inside track, but ND is rattling his cage.

I'd guess no. Anything can happen, but I think this guy is going to lean harder to Ole Miss and LSU.
