I'm not sure how I feel about current players having a vote for the Heisman.

First of all, even according to your stats, he didn't throw more picks than TD's in any year. Furthermore, the 5th year in question he won the Heisman.

You know the rest is simply an unfair way to look at QB's. I could compare Peyton Manning's stats to Case Keenum and make that same argument that you made there. I could say, "well Case Keenum threw for more yards and had a better passer rating, so he must have been a better QB than Peyton in college". Different times, different schemes. Fact is is that Couch won the Heisman too. In fact, he achieved more than Manziel because he won a title too. Today's pass happy spread offenses make silly stats that shouldn't be compared to at face value.


Anybody that is old enough to have seen Crouch play will tell you that they are very similar in style, substance and meaningfulness to their respective teams.



Also.... I don't see where that shows me that Manziel has a higher ceiling than what he has played too. I'm still not getting that point.

Crouch's Senior year, he had 7 Passing Touchdowns and 10 Interceptions. That is not pro QB stats. That is why he didn't play in the NFL at the Qb position. The highest completion percentage he ever had was 55.6%(same year). Manziel was 24-8 this year with a 68% comp, as a RS Freshman. How you even begin to compare these two is beyond me. It's like saying Terrell Pryor and Cam Newton are the same player because they're 6-5 black, can run fast and can throw far. It makes no sense.

I'm saying he has a high ceiling because he is only 20 years old. He still has much to learn about reading defenses, and just normal QB maturity traits. I feel he will progress the same as RG3 did through college. RG3 used his feet, and amazing athletic ability to much early on in his college career. However, once he became more comfortable in the pocket and learned to master the chess game that is reading a defense, he really began to shine.

However, its obvious we're not going to agree on this. The only answer is time. Love your posts just unfortunate we disagree on this, and the NFL MVP race(A.P>Manning). I bid you good day. This east coaster has work tomorrow.
