Syracuse Is Awful

Does anyone other than me think that 'CUSE is the worst DIV 1 team ever? I had not seen them on TV this year but could not believe all the nagative things said about them on this site. Those posts were charitable!

We can argue that the change in coaches and system are difficult. But this team looks like it doesn't have a coach.

Their pass defense is pretty good and that's it. They dropped about 7 balls and the rest were overthrown, underthrown, or not thrown at all.

I actually felt sorry for them ( and that's a first for a ND opponent).

First year coach Greg Robinson has option peronnel and is trying to implement at West Coast system. Obviously, he'll have some work to do recruiting.

They didn't pass much and seemed afraid to let that kid pass at all. With Navy and Cuse, the ND pass defense got a chance to fudge their numbers a bit.

Robinson said that ND hadn't used a no huddle all year long, but remembered Weis using it in the pros. Low and behold, ND is using the no huddle in the first quarter.

Robinson won two Super Bowls with Denver as a Defensive Coordinator. He had success with Texas. Given time, he can have Syracuse back into bowl games and conference contention. He has been the only coach to rattle ND's offense for 15 minutes this year.

It was the first game ND did not score in the first quarter.
