How much has Charlie Weis improved Mo Stovalls stock in the upcoming draft?

MEL KIPER
A lot. He is now one of the top 5-6 senior wideouts right now and Charlie Weis has been very good for him. Stovall goes 6-4, 225 and is one of the most improved seniors in the nation. On draft day he could get into the mix for a first day selection.

Dan (Columbus, OH): Is Notre Dame a BCS shoe-in if they win out?

Mel Kiper: (1:03 PM ET ) I think they will win out and at 9-2 should be a BCS shoo-in. Notre Dame could play with anyone in the country and proved it against USC, and they now have some star power in Charlie Weis and Brady Quinn. I would love to see Penn State and Notre Dame play in a bowl with all the history and tradition involved. And a great PSU defense against that ND offense would be very fun.

There was no doubt in my mind this was going to be the case.

He's a first rounder. Book it.

This year: 2-3 round
Next year: Top 15 pick (assuming similar or better team & individual production)

Since Mark Bradley is done for the year, Mushin Muhammed is again in need of a compliment on the other side.

But the Bears are too dumb to take Stovall.

Kiper said that Stovall would be a "likely first day selection." Correct me if I'm wrong, but that doesn't read as "likely first rounder." I'm not sure Stovall has the speed or track record in college to be a first round pick. I think that Samardzija needs to seriously look into going into this year's draft. Next year he would well behind Jarrett and Johnson (Ga. Tech).

Quinn would be a first rounder, probably in the same area that Aaron Rodgers got drafted last year. If he stays, he'll most likely be top ten.

I think Stovall is going to end up 2nd or 3rd round. He is a good player but I don't think that he could go 1st round. Still 2nd round isnt bad for a guy that coming into this season was still waiting to reach his potential.

Some NFL scouts are saying Quinn is better than Leinart. If Quinn left this year, he's a top 10 pick for sure. Next year he'll be a top 5 pick for sure.

2 or 3rd round? What are you smoking my friend, he'd be a first rounder for sure this year.

I would have to agree. Depends on who else would be in the draft. Usually around four go in the first round. Leinart, Young, and Shockley would (will?) all be taken in a first round if they enter, and Quinn would be fourth.

Edit: Actually, Croyle is a senior too.

Yeah, some NFL scouts and ANYONE who looks at the way both of them throw the ball. Quinn treats the football like he shooting for a bulleyes to 'double out', while Leinart's 'throws' really don't have a lot of zip. BQ has come A LONG WAY.
