Does that name ring a bell? For those of you who don't remember thats a guy Weis offered last year when he took the ND job, Bennett was basically a nobody 2 star to low rated 3 star player the previous coaching staff never even looked at, well Earl chose Vanderbilt and currently has 46 receptions as a freshman, including 16 cathes for 206 yards against South Carolina last week...

Weis sure can evaluate talent...

I remember him! The guy that went to Vanderbilt. I remember telling my dad ND lost a kid to Vandy and he almost fell out of his chair.

Good for Earl. Clearly, Vandy over ND was not only a football decision for him.

While it is nice to land the Walls,Jones and Frazer's of the world, im really excited for the not so known prospects coming in just based upon Weis' evaluation of talent. (Mullen,Wade and Prince)

Luck86, you lit a fire under me.

I watched video of Prince and Wade (Mullen was NA). Let me say this: Prince might be small, but he's fast. I mean fast. On a screen pass, it looked like several defenders had him hemmed in. He took a sliver of space between them and the sideline AND HE WAS GONE. Right up the sideline for a score. Unreal.

I look at Wade and see a year or two with Mendoza and Jappy Oliver, mix it all up and I get an NFL millionaire. He really likes to hit QBs HARD. He'll fit in nicely. On a couple of plays, the QB took at three step drop and Wade was there by step 2.5.

My, the future is bright.

Wade and Prince are more highly touted then Bennett was. Bennett didn't have many offers, and the one's he did have weren't very impressive(Vandy, Kentucky) Prince had some nice offers form Iowa, and Ohio State. Wade is rated pretty high on Rivals, so I wouldn't say they're not known. Paddy had like 30 offers too I think.

I just love the fact Weis offered Bennett, shows he knows talent when he see's it. Pretty darn impressive when a true freshman has 46 receptions this early in the season.

I didn't mean those guys were totally unknown I just meant in comparison to Walls, Frazer and Jones.
