From Blue and Gold.

“I was hanging out with Zach Frazer, James Aldridge, Paddy Mullen,” he said. “I was also trying to get to this guy, Matt Carufel. He’s going to be a great lineman . . . You could tell he was interested, otherwise he wouldn’t be there. But he was playing it pretty close to the vest.”

“Hold on. Let’s go back a few minutes here,” he said with somewhat of a southern twang in his voice. “I just want to say something to the Irish fan base out there and you can put it in your article.”

“This is definitely the last time Notre Dame is going to lose to those guys for at least the next four years. That’s just how it is.”

The Carufel comments intrigued me.

I think Carufel is leaning ND's way, but he's keeping it hush hushed

Living in New Joisey, it seems like Bartley is picking up on Joisey-ese already. Only it'd be more like "doze guys"....but not bad for his first try.

#1. Only people who aren't from here call it New "Joisey." You must be originally from Long Island.

#2. You might be right about the way he talks, but if he was really picking up a Jersey accent, his statments would have been laced with profanity and therefore unfit to print anyway. It wouldn't be "those guys" but more likely "those $#&*@(#&@(#!"
