I found this over on ISD premium board. I felt like stealing this would be ok since it is just a post about similarities in seasons. If not, MODS, feel free to delete.

The poster said a few things were off (not sure which) but a little crazy to say the least. We still have a long way to go but it could stir up some chatter...

To me, if we can beat Stanford this week then the appropriate comparison is the 2002 team. Right now that is the measuring stick for this group. Ultimately that group tailed off as the season went on but the similarities are striking to that season.

The schedule is very similar and the Oklahoma game in a couple weeks is a direct parallel to the Florida State game in 2002. But we haven't even gotten there yet. The Stanford game is similar to the Pittsburgh game from that year.
