Here is a list of players that ND offered but who have commited elsewhere:

Mitch Mustain, QB = Arkansas
Kiante Tripp, OT = Georgia
Jacques McClendon, OG = Tennessee
Walter Watts, OG = UCLA
Eddie Jones, DE = Texas
Jamie Cumbie, DE = Clemson
Ben Alexander, DT = Texas
Dustin Earnest, LB = Texas
Brandon Graham, LB = Michigan
Jared Norton, LB = Texas
Asher Allen, CB = Georgia
Steve Brown, CB = Michigan
Byron Maxwell, CB = Clemson
Chip Gregory, ATH = Arkansas
Taylor Mays, ATH = USC
Kai Forbath, K = UCLA

Mustain and Forbath were lost by default because of Jones and Burkhardt. As for the rest of this list, everyone but Alexander, Brown, Gregory and Mays committed to his home state. 13 verbals and 16 players on this list is about average. It all ends up 50-50 in the end come signing day.

Cumbie, Graham, Mays and Brown were all guys I would have liked ND to have gotten.

Brown's the only one that absolutely kills me, since they need the help in the backfield, but if Walls comes along (please Lord...) all will be well there. They probably could have used Tripp, McLendon, and Watts for some depth at the line, but it never seemed like they were really in the running for any of them anyway, plus I think Webb will turn into a solid player, and w/ the way the line is playing right now you have to figure a few more big O-line prospects are gonna see that and say to themselves, "Man, I want to go play for that o-line coach" before its said and done this year.

Mays is by far the best player in that group. Brandon Graham is good too, but ND appears to have more depth at LB than any position.
