Let's hope that ND can keep up the intensity week in and week out with their schedule and also i hope that offensively we don't see ne more of the nd team we seen in the 2nd half of the michigan game....maybe im worrying for nothing...but is there ne other worries for the rest of the season? or do you think we may be good to go?

i worrie about usc and little teams we should beat. And they can't lose to Washington, because i don't want to hear it about Ty. How they fire him to soon. But personly i think he sucks as a coach.

That game is lose-lose-lose. If the lose, they're screwed b/c they'll never hear the end of it about how they fired Ty too early. If they win, but its close, they still lose b/c then they'll hear how Ty kept it close w/ horrible team against a team that won at Michigan. If they win big, they STILL lose b/c then everyone'll just say, "Its Washington, what do you expect Ty to do w/ a team that went 1-10 last year? It means nothing."

As much as I hope they beat the crap out of Washington the way Cal did today, I'm starting to kind of hate that game b/c I know there's really nothing all that good that can come out of it (outside of my own personal satisfaction seeing the Blue & Gold lay the smack down on Willingham)

Charlie has our team going in the right direction, and there is no way in hell anyone can compare his start to Ty shittingham's because we scored offensive touchdowns in our first game unlike f*ckface willingham...........GO IRISH!!!!!!

The obsession with some posters on this site about Tyrone Willingham is really making for bad reading. Ultmately, I guess you can post whatever you want, but this is really counter productive. But since we are free to post our own opinions, let me try something...

Notre Dame is 2-0 and just came off a win in Ann Arbor, the holiest of holy in college football shrines and we're STILL talking about Tyrone Willingham. Why don't I just end this now...

2005 has begun. ND is 2-0 and still has to play MICHIGAN STATE before they play Washington.

And as for Washington, let's just say ND does lose...WHICH THEY WON'T....then they deserve to hear every last bit of it because Washington sucks and Notre Dame should win that game quite handily.

That is, unless, Michigan State kicks their asses all over the field and several key players get hurt. Because Michigan State is the team they play THIS Saturday. I expect ND to win these next two games. Quite frankly, I don't even want to watch the ND-UW game because of all the stupid crap that will be written about it. I know a certain guy from New Jersey is with me on this one for sure. By the way, there will be a football game that day in Seattle...after the HOME OPENER against MICHIGAN STATE.

Are we all still pissed at Urban Meyer, too?

I don't know about you, but that was cleansing. I think I'll have a smoke....

Weis has the team taking it one game at a time. They need to focus on MSU, it'll be a tough game but with the proper preparation, ND should win.

Funny I have no worries, I'll take every win we can get. Remember people we're picking us to win 5 or 6 game, so 8 or 9 wins will be a great year.

I do not understand why some Irish fans are already looking for a loss? Do you remember last year? BYU ring a bell? Let's look to the positives: 1) We beat two teams that were ranked (regardless of pitt, who knows ND may have just crushed thier spirit enough to play Ohio). 2) Every analyst who bashed this team has egg on thier face. 3) Do you think recruits are looking at ND and saying "Hmmm the future looks bright there". 4) Michigan fans showed on a national level. 4) Slowly it is comming to the realization that all these teams who have padded thier schedule over the past few years with cupcake teams are starting to show that they are not as good as the "know it alls" ranked them at the beginning of the year.
Go Irish and lets beat Michigan State!!!!!

Agreed. 2-0 is 2-0 and I'm happy as could be. Lets make it 3-0 vs MSU then we'll worry about the rest of the season.

Seriously, could you ask for anything more than 2-0? They've played 2 games and won them both. Underdogs on the road each time.

Forget about the offseason. It's over with. The healing has begun. And I don't mean all the guys from Pitt and UM that were being carted off the field.

This game was classic Weis and NE Pats....the Pats did not blow out everybody. They simply were the best team on the field in each game. With the Irish up 17-3 and the defense being so strong, the game plan changed so i am not concerned at stagnant offense in the 2nd half. They won although it was difficult. The were the best team on the field Saturday.

My concern is that this was an extremely physical game. Although ND put more 'hurts' on UM, UM hit hard too. Mich St is always a physical team who is 'fresh'. This game will be won in the trenches so I hope the whirlpools in 'the Gug' are world-class.

hmmm....michigan state appears to be a quality team, but they are by no means at the same talent level as u-m. they don't have the playmakers at running back OR wide receiver like u-m does. unless i'm mistaken, their offensive and defensive lines are both smaller than u-m's. they're simply not in the same league. kent state? hawaii? i think some of us are remembering the hawaii of a couple years ago, when they had a decent qb and a decent team. they are NOT a good football team this year.

having said that, msu will play tough. they have long played the role of season spoilers for many teams, including the irish. however, unlike u-m, their spirit can be broken with a few good drives from the irish.

the key to this game will be containing drew stanton. plain and simple. if he's contained, or injured for that matter, the irish win.

Let Ty GO!

Let Ty GO!

Why all of the hating on Ty, let him go for goodness sakes! He is no longer @ ND- unless someone has a "guilt complex"....Why does his name still linger on? Is there no hate for Urban Meyer? Let's wish all of them well & move on.........

This will be a good game. But ND should win it. MSU has not been tested and I believe this is their first road game.

ND has been tested on the road twice and this crowd will not be the typical retirement home group it usually is.

I don't hate Willingham or Meyer, but I do want to beat up on Washington especially bad so that there is little doubt we made right decision in letting him go. Because we didn't get Mayer, we got Weis and he seems to be working out ok...don't you think?

You crack me up irishtexan. Will you ever stop hateing Ty? Not that I'm sticking up for the guy because I wanted his head last year, but he's in a bad place now where he is sure to lose a lot of games by a lot of points. Forget about him.

They will beat up on him...right after they finish off MSU. They're going to beat up on plenty of others this year, too. So what does it matter? God forbid the bowl game is against the Gators. There are some people on this site that will not be able to handle the month before that game.

Well, I find reading the Husky boards-gleefully watching their ongoing meltdown-to be a very entertaining diversion. Hardly 'bad reading.'

How about this...in two weeks, let it go. It's pathetic and sad. There is so much more to talk about...ND FOOTBALL present and future.

New t-shirt idea: Who Cares about Ty?

Buy one, get a "Who Cares About Urban Meyer" shirt for free.

Vote Charlie.

Posters who are just concerned with knocking the guy, that's true.

But the fact is, he's a Div. 1 college coach of a team we'll play 3 times in the next five years, which makes him a legitimate topic of discussion. Also, as Santayana said, those who do not remember the past are destined to repeat it. We got stuck with Gerry Faust because people forgot about Hunk Anderson, and we got stuck with Davie/Willingham because people forgot about Brennan/Kuharich. There is no reason not to talk about the school's history, and the next time we're looking for a coach, I'll be screaming about Willingham and the others for precisely that reason!
