• LB Alex Anzalone: Rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns, adding 10 tackles on defense, in a 42-7 victory for Wyomissing’s (2-0) over Conrad Weiser. Next game – Muhlenberg (2-0)

• OL Hunter Bivin: Apollo (1-2) had a bye week. Next game –Henderson County (2-2)

• WR Justin Brent (2014): Reeled in eight catches for 196 yards and three touchdowns in a 62-38 loss for Speedway (2-2) against Cardinal Ritter. Next game – Monrovia (2-2)

• DB Devin Butler: Didn’t play in Gonzaga’s (2-1) loss versus St. Joseph’s Prep [Philadelphia] due to a high-ankle sprain, but hopes to return in a week. Next game – Georgetown Prep (0-2)

• LB Michael Deeb: Compiled 13 tackles but American Heritage (1-1) still fell to Bolles, 30-27. Next game – Lake Highland Prep (1-1)

• OL Steven Elmer Jr.: Midland (3-0) had a close victory over Heritage, 7-0. Next game – Arthur Hill (0-3)

• ATH Will Fuller: Caught four passes for 91 yards and a 59-yard touchdown in Roman Catholic’s (1-1) 42-20 loss versus Downington East. Next game – Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (0-2)

• TE Mike Heuerman: Remained on the sideline due to an ankle/leg injury in Barron Collier’s (2-0) shutout of Westminster Christian and was expected to be back in practice the following week. Next game – East Lee County (0-2)

• RB Jamel James: Sat out due to a hamstring injury in Cinco Ranch’s (2-0) win over Cy-Ridge. North Shore (2-0)

• DB Rashad Kinlaw: Still unable to play after leg surgery following the Team USA U-19 Game as Absegami (0-1) dropped its season opener against St. Joseph, 37-29. Next game – Middle Township (0-1)

• LB Greer Martini (2014): Woodberry Forest (0-1) was beat by Benedictine, 28-19, in its season opener. Next game – Blair Academy (1-0)

• LB Danny Mattingly: Caught a 59-yard touchdown to help Mead (2-0) defeat North Central 47-6. Next game – Gonzaga Prep (2-0)

• DL Jacob Matuska: Had two receptions for 35 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown catch, and six tackles after only playing one half in Bishop Hartley’s (3-0) 50-7 blowout win over East Knox. Next game – Archbishop Hoban (0-3)

• OL Mike McGlinchey: William Penn Charter School (1-0) shut out Samuel Fels, 30-0. Next game –McDonogh [Owings Mills, Md.] (2-2)

• OL Colin McGovern: Lincoln-Way West (2-1) finished with an easy 49-14 victory against Thornridge. Next game – Andrew (2-1)

• OL John Montelus: Everett (1-0) opened up its 2012 season with its 26th straight victory in a 29-17 result versus Leominster. Next game – Central (1-0)

• WR James Onwualu: Rushed for touchdowns of 19- and four-yards in a tough 17-16 loss to Mounds View for Cretin-Derham Hall (1-1). Next game – Stillwater (2-0)

• LB Doug Randolph: Couldn’t participate in Woodberry Forest’s (0-1) 28-19 loss against Benedictine because he’s still recovering from a broken foot and is expected to return on Oct. 1. Next game – Blair Academy (1-0)

• WR Corey Robinson: Received play of the week honors after a performance that included nine catches for 151 yards and four touchdowns, plus a two-point conversion, in San Antonio Christian’s (0-2) 36-34 loss to Navarro. Next game – Bye week

• DL Isaac Rochell: Remained on the sideline with a recently suffered broken hand that should keep him out for a couple more weeks in Eagle’s Landing Christian Landing (2-1) win against Clinch County. Next game – Hapeville Charter (1-2)

• LB Jaylon Smith: Carries the ball 10 times for 56 yards and had two receptions for 26 yards in Bishop Luers (2-2) loss to Whitmer [Toledo, Ohio]. Next game – Wayne (1-3)

• QB Malik Zaire: Archbishop Alter’s (2-0) game against Napolean was cancelled after just four plays due to lightning and will not be played. Next game – Roger Bacon (0-3)

Is it me or do we have a lot of injured recruits, I guess our recruits want to be like our team with all of these injuries.

Wow idk who is more banged up....the team or the commits. But thankfully nothing too serious across the board for the class of '13. Stay healthy and play tough fellas.

Yep, pretty crazy. 6 players injured. And one game canceled by lightning :). I try to ignore the bad and soak in the good. And there is a lot of good. Robinson is going to be a freak. I hope he gets a little more love in the rankings.

Well, Corey had an amazing game with 4 TDs and still lost, so it just goes to show ya how much of a team game this is.

It seems lot of people are unhappy about how the coach is using Jaylon Smith.
