BCS National Championship Game

Predictions? Who do you think will be in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl playing for the National Championship? My prediction is USC taking on Texas. I think Texas' only obstacle besides Adrian Peterson is Ohio State. But I think if they can walk into the Horeshoe and beat the Buckeyes that they will be deserving. Final prediction is USC will again be national champions. There is no reason for them not to be. What an amazing core of talent. Plus another interesting little note is that there will be no bowl games hel on January 1st this year, don't know why they changed it, but personally I do not like the change. Takes away tradition from the game.

Texas will find a way to mess things up. Look for an A&M, Colorado or K. State fly in the ointment.

I don't think Texas will be there just b/c I don't think they're beating Oklahoma this year. They have to do it on the field before I'd ever predict that, w/ the way they've lost to them over recent years.

I think it might be USC and possibly a big ten school. If any of Michigan, OSU, or Iowa can beat the other two I think that team's got a real shot at it.

Guess there's no reason to take the day off from work. To spend the Solemnity of Mary on the Octave of Christmas doing anything other than mass and a football game is heresy.

I'm sure this is based on the following erroneous assumption: That anybody should need or want to watch anything other than ND and the Rose Bowl.

I could not agree more. Reggie McNeal is better than Vince Young. Period.

This is tough to say. I think USC slips on a banana peel at some point. I hope it is South Bend, but they go on the road against Cal this year. It's tough to pick against them now, though, but.... Hmmm...

I'm going to say USC and Ohio State. The Bucks have a great defense and Teddy Ginn is the best player west of the Mississippi. Michigan kids are too arrogant and they always find a way to drop 2 or 3 games.

I could see Tennessee sneaking in there, but hopefully with 2 weeks to prepare at home ND can beat them.

I also like the big 3 from the Big 10--Michigan, OSU, Iowa. And I agree USC is due for a fall, tho' I think it's more likely to happen in Eugene than SB.

I predict good things for Miami and LSU, based on the schedules. Miami has Florida State & Va Tech on the road, but otherwise looks like smooth sailing, especially with 10 returning starters on defense. LSU plays its 3 toughest opponents, Auburn, Tennessee, & Florida, in Baton Rouge...

So let's say... Iowa-LSU. Or maybe Michigan-Miami.

I don't like Iowa going into Ohio State and Purdue. Michigan has to play at Iowa. Personally, I think their schedule is garbage. Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois in Ann Arbor? Terrible. Chances are two other unbeatens out of the other BCS schools would have to go over them, but they're Michigan.

LSU and Miami....you've done your homework here Maison. Certainly could be a possibility there.

SC could go down at Oregon or Arizona State. Oregon is very tough at home. You have to like them until someone beats them, though.

Texas is overrated. Until I see Vince Young make plays with is arm I am not feeling Texas. As much as I hate Ohio State, the Longhorns are not leaving Columbus with a win. It is a night game and oh yeah....Mack Brown or Jim Tressel? As far as OK and TX, Petterson left..Petterson right..Petterson up the middle..Petterson around the corner...OK AGAIN!!! I would say LSU but who is Les Miles, he beat Stoops twice but I am not sold. The Hurricanes have a new quarterback and what has Coker done post Dorsey/McGahee? Have you guys seen USC's schedule...what a joke (hopefully we can shock the world). I believe it will be USC and a one lose team which loses early in the season. I hate to say it but I would say Ohio State. Yeah, they go to Michigan, but Henne w/o Edwards and Ohio State LB's against Michael Hart. My darkhorses are Florida and Iowa.

In The Sporting News CFB preview issue, a rival Big Ten coach made a statement along these lines: Michigan kids are recruited a certain way and thus think they're special. They decide not to show up for certain games and don't always play hard. Michigan has more talent, but Ohio State and Iowa play harder.

When it comes to talent and results, I can't think of anyone else that does less with more. They're strong at home, but if they play anyone good on the road they go down.

Miami will have some good backs again. Moss is in good shape and Kyle Wright will finally get the keys to the car. They have the attitude, which is something I hope ND gets back again this year.

HIT!!

I too think USC may slip this year.

Four of their road games could be really tough.

Oregon will be better than last year and they have a good QB and a pretty effective defensive line returning.

ASU may have a break out year with as many returning players as they have. Many analysts think their defense will be even better than last years 48th ranked D

ND of course is going to be a better team than last year.

And then we come to Cal. These guys are going to be looking for blood after last year. And with as many JuCo players as they have coming in I think they are going to be very good.
