Just saw Jerome Bettis on PTI for "Five Good Minutes." They asked him if there was anything the Steelers could take away from the Patriots to help Pittsburgh get past them, and he responed, "Well, I know one important thing we took away, the offensive coordinator!" Wilbon asked him later what he thought ND's chances were this year, and he said 8 wins at first and then added at least 7. He also said he was really excited about Charlie Weis and that he really appreciated how much Weis has reached out to him and some other former players and let them know how much he wants them to be a part of the program. Gotta love Bettis, he was wearing a Notre Dame hat for the interview and everything. Its nice b/c most players don't stay so loyal to the school they came from like him and some of the other ND alums. I think Notre Dame alumni players are kinda like Miami alumni, minus the insanity & attitude, and plus a few more brain cells. Assuming (and I understand this is an EXTREMELY safe assumption) my Giants don't do anything this year, I really kinda hope the Steelers finally get him a Superbowl ring, especially since its being played in his hometown this year. When he retires, would love to see him as a color guy in the booth on Saturdays for NBC.

With the Pat's losing two key factors in Weis and Romeo...and Pit's D, they have the best chance in the AFC...J.B at ND is when I grew up watching them every Saturday...I was like 6 years old...i loved him and Reggie Brooks

Weis has gone out of his way to get the former players involved.

ND can be very much like UM with the alumni players coming around. Just minus the cash, drugs and Luther Campbell.

The enthusiasm and tradition is what counts. Bringing back guys like Zorich, Brown, Montana, Bettis, etc. will only help the program...and recruiting.

Huge Steelers fan here also! It would be awesome to see Jerome get that SB ring. Would like to see Cowher finally get one also.
