Last Friday the Ft. Lauderdale Alumni hosted a dinner and auction to honor Lou Holtz. I have to tell you it was one of the best times I have had. BTW last year they had Paul Hornung as an honoree and that is where he first gave the speech that got him in hot water. Anyway many ND football greats were there including Andy Heck, Kevin McDougal, Allen Rossum, "Flash" Gordon, Autry Denson, Tim Brown and of course Lou Holtz. Most of the guys mingled through the crowd and you could get there autograph. It was quite a shock to me that I was actually able to have a conversation with Tim Brown and Autry Denson. Autry and I went to high schools across town from one another and he was trashing my schools track team but of course I told him that when I was there we smoked his school.

It was a great night and incredible to actually be able to have one on one conversations with legends of football. Of course everyone was lined up to meet Lou but when you were with him he was focused on you and your conversation. It wasn't like sign the autograph and next, let's get this over with. INCREDIBLE!! :king:

Just thought I'd share with everyone

Man if I would have known that McDougal was gonna be there I might have found a way down there.

Yes Heck is a coach for Jacksonville.

McDougal is such a nice guy, it would have been worth the trip. To be honest I didn't recognize him. He isn't much taller than myself and fairly thin. Next to Tony Rice I think Kevin was my favorite QB to watch play. I took a picture or two of Kevin. I will try to upload it for you tomorrow

Hornung repeated the same thing a few weeks later on a radio station. Her is a link to what he said http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1772368
