It's being reported that Victor Abiamiri broke his leg. Vic's a very important player for us, he has plenty of experience at DE, and was considered the best DE in the country out of high school by many.

Leitko, Frome, Brown, Stephenson(he may need to switch again) are all quality guys, but don't have much experience. Hopefuly Vic A is ready when the season starts in 5 months....

Broken leg bones take less than 8 weeks to heal, which is longer than any of the other bones in the body (because they support the body's weight). Loss of strength to atrophy can be restored within another month. If true, there is no reason to think Abiamiri won't be 100% by the start of fall practice, regardless.

Either way, not good news. Durability is so important. Hopefully he heals properly and doesn't rush back.

Big Vic only has a deep shin bruise --- if it was the regular season C Dub said he'd be out 2 weeks.
