he spoke at my high school when i was a sophomore. as i'm sure you would expect, the gist of his speech was "you can do anything you put your mind to," etcetera. to be honest, at the time i wasn't all that impressed. i am assuming he simplified things a bit considering his audience. i tried to meet him and talk ND afterwards but didn't get the chance.

Oddly enough, I was reading an article in the paper once about him and it said that Notre Dame has never asked him to speak to the football team. He's been back to Notre Dame to give speeches several times, but never to the team for some reason. The reporter had contacted him and asked him about it and he said he never knew why that is & if the school ever asked him to he would jump at the chance. Ironically, the reporter was a guy from the west coast area, and what had prompted him to do the story was he heard Rudy had been asked to speak to the Trojans. Go figure.

He is at a good portion of the home games. I can't even remember the last time I went to a home game and didn't see him (or Faust for that matter)

Well actually, the AD forbids that he speaks to the team (I'm pretty sure, if not it's somebody else who forbids it). The truth is, he hasn't turned out into that great of a guy. He actually begged several producers to make his movie until one finally did. He has been trying to make as much money off of his story as he possibly can. I hear he charges grade schools way to much for him to just go speak there (no proof of that one just something I heard).

Don't get me worng, I love the story and what he did when he was young, but I hate who he has turned into now.
