Former Notre Dame football captain Dave Duerson, who resigned from the Board of Trustees Friday after allegedly assaulting his wife in The Morris Inn Thursday, is scheduled to appear in St. Joseph Superior Court Feb. 28, St. Joseph County Prosecutor Michael Dvorak said Tuesday.

I feel bad for his kids. This kind of behavior is not to be tolerated.

It shouldnt be tolerated, but it should be forgiven.

I am sure he is a good guy and he has done a lot for ND and also his family. People have bad days or weeks, it happens.

I am sure he loves his wife or he would not have been with her for so long.
Give the guy a break!

One time is too many. I'm guessing that based on the fact that this all took place in the AM hours, booze was involved.

DD was one of the first to carry the cross for Ty when he was fired. He said some things that sounded very biased and I think he had the situation all wrong.

As a Bear, I always liked him.

Well I guess not everybody is a perfect human being all our lives.

To forgive is Devine.

I think some people need extra help when it comes to mental problems and substance abuse.

The last thing anybody should do is label him a piece of poop, and turn their back on him. If he regrets it and is forgiven by the person he assaulted. I think we should also be willing to forgive him.

To say that one time is too many is rediculous. And a convienient(?) thing to say.

I don't tolerate spousal abuse. Period. There is no excuse for it. I have my reasons. Rather not discuss them in this forum.

Duerson will be fine. He will be forgiven. Most athletes are anyway. This incident is very minor.
