ND plays a pretty tough schedule most years but ND also plays a few patsies - let's not pretend that ND is somehow above all this.

ND plays 7-10 bowl eligible teams every year. They also only have division 1A teams on their schedule. ND schedules are always tough. Some are more manageable than others, but never easy. Let's not forget the fact that opponents love to give their best shot at ND. We rarely have the underdog factor on our side.

That being said, you are overlooking the most crucial factor here. It is very hard to win football games at the division 1 level. There are so many factors that leads to victory other than just raw talent.
