Just throwing something out there...are huge inagurations really necessary for 2nd-term presidents? You're having a celebration just because you got to keep your job? And spending millions of dollars on it, no less. I'm quite sure, you could have a small but grand ceremony for say $2 million, and put the other 38 mil towards social issues (tax relief, education, welfare reform), tsunami relief, the military, etc.

But why spend the money just because we can? Doesn't make much sense to me...but that's just my :twocents:.

I tell ya Lyght, Im a republican and I think its absurd to spend 40 million on this thing. If it was me, Subway would cater, and there would be kegs of Keystone light for everybody!

Heck, I voted for Kerry...but I'd be at that party with a big Bush button on!

All they'd need would be a case of Natty Ice, and it would be college all over again.

I agree...I'm 27, and Natty Ice is still a quality reserve off the bench. I only drop top-dollar for SoCo & Mr. Daniels.

Wow those are some of the most ghetto ass beers that they sell nowadays. 40's are you serious?lol are you going to go hang out with your boxers hanging out of your pants in front of the liquor store. lol j/k

no but i think the whole thing is that the office of the president (the president being the most powerful man in the world) you have to have a big and expeneive inaug to show leadedrs of other countries that the president is a "big and powerful" man.
alot of leaders of foriegn countries (especially third world) only respect power and money.

not that i agree with it.
