Exactly...NBC needs to throw some cash at Costas. And we all need to hope the Steelers win the Super Bowl...then NBC can throw some cash at Bettis.

I may be mistaken, but I don't think anyone's ever won the Heisman on a team w/ more than 2 losses. The team as a whole would have to improve a lot next year for Quinn to have a chance. I know they're going to improve, I just don't know that they're going to improve from 6-5 to 9-2 or 10-1 in one season.

Today it goes to the best player on the team most likely to win the national title. Huge difference. Today's pop wisdom says if you're a great player then you must hold the entire team up. And if you don't, you're obviously not that good.
This is also why the trophy is now biased toward quarterbacks. It is much harder for any other position to win it.

I think it would be great to have davie in the booth.Just to see him stutter when ND gets back to winning.There wasn't a sports show he wouldn't go on to tell everyone how hard it is at ND.He could not do it so nobody can.I wish they would have talked to Holtz when everything went down.But then the story would not have been as good.hell put Ty,davie,and mark may in the booth.The Irish dream team.irishgo8 said:

I'd actually enjoy Mark May in the booth...he's actually good despite his views on "Willingham-Gate". Ty's too laid back to be a good announcer.
