I always used the Tenpenny Tower blueprints in Real Time Settler on FO3 for my settlement.
Oh wow! That's a blast from the past! I forgot I worked on that mod. I had bigger plans for it, but I was still super new at using the Bethesda Toolkit at the time and real life got in the way of adding to it. Pretty sure I lost all that work too in a hard drive crash, aside from the .esp that was uploaded to Nexus.

o_O Wild Wasteland

I did a mod for Skyrim too that I really liked, "Open Sesame - Lockpicking Spells." It basically added back in the Alteration spells that Oblivion had which allowed a Mage to open locked doors without lockpicks.

I did a couple mods for New Vegas too, one which altered Cass' Calm Hearts perk because the original perk was bugged and sucked anyway. The other mod was one that allowed you to return Black Mountain Radio to the airwaves after you completed the Tabitha and Rhonda questline...cause who doesn't miss hearing about the dangers of battle cattle and favorite centaur, Moe?

The only mods I made were for Mass Effect, but never uploaded them. The process was super fun though.

On a related note (Not the virgin part, just referencing Dragon's Dogma 2  I am so damned pumped for this game. The first had amazing combat that was innovative and interactive. It wasn't just button mashing like modern ARPGs have been. You could grapple onto Dragons and Cyclops, rending their squishy weak parts like eyes and hearts. All combat classes were viable, and the Pawn system was actually helpful and unique. The story was decent, and the world was immersive. Capcom does so well when they put out RPGs, I wish they would do them more often.

Definitely hype for DD2!

I don't know how I'm going to balance this and Helldivers. I thought I'd get to 50 and be basically done with Helldivers, but leaks have shown new stuff coming out like weapon mods, vehicles, and they just dropped some new missions already.

So is Final Fantasy 7 Remake done after this most recent release? Or are they making another one? I said that I wasn't going to play the first one until they were done with the whole thing.

So there’s one more to go but they both have been absolutely fantastic and if you truly want to understand everything you have to play Crisis core remake and interlude. But if you liked the original it’s a definite yes.

Sorry, maybe I'm just dense but how is it not known? Wouldn't it be obvious based on how the story ended? There's an original FFVII, so does this remake reach the end of that story?

well yeah its more than likely but no official confirmation has been made yet. Apparently they are still at script writing stage

OK, so the game that just came out doesn't reach the end of the orginal FFVII. There is almost certainly going to be third game it's just not announced. Thanks!

I thought it was announced long ago that the FF7 remake was going to be a three part series.

They've never settled on 3 parts, I think that was just speculation. It could still end up being 3 parts, but it's just guessing at this point. After the first game only made it to the end of Midgar there was talk from Squeenix that the next game may not even progress as far as the 1st remake did. Effectively the end of Rebirth is the end of Disc 1 I guess from the original game. There's still all of Disc 2 (Although a lot of that is sidequests that could end up getting skipped), and Disc 3 which was mostly just the endgame. While the bulk of the story was on the original Disc 1, there may be too much from Discs 2 and 3 to cram into a final Remake release. That's why some people think there could be at least 4 games in this series.

Either way I feel like Squeenix has been stretching this IP and milking the fans a bit so they can squeeze the maximum money out of it. I thought the first game did some things very well, but the silly fetch quests along with the button mashing combat and changes to the storyline were unnecessary and at times disappointing. I'm going to wait it out and get a "Greatest Hits" version once they're all finished up with it.

If I'm gonna buy a video game system this spring/summer for a young kiddo to enjoy would you recommend switch or oculus 2?

I think the Switch is good, but I don't have any experience with Ocoulus so I'm biased. We generally only keep our Switch docked to the TV because I don't trust my youngest to handle anything more expensive than his Fire Kindle and that at least has a screen protector and case to go around it. We don't have such a thing for our Switch, so I made a rule that it stays docked. It is nice that it's portable though.

As far as games, there's a lot of family friendly ones for the Switch. You've got the Zelda games, Mario Kart, Mario party, Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, etc.

You might want to double check that your kid is old enough for an occlus. I think there are age requirements because young kids don't have fully developed eyeballs.

That being said from a value perspective I would prefer the Switch unless your kid is really into VR stuff.

so i got the switch for the kiddo as well as mario kart 8 and luigi's castle 3. Are there any other games that would be great for a 5yo.

also, is there benefit in buying an additional joycon set?

Kirby games, Yoshi games, some Lego games should be fun.

You might want an extra controller if you want to play co-op with her, which is really the way to go for a kid that young. Mario Kart is definitely a good call as there are good adjustable "cheat" modes that make the car almost drive itself to help overcome oversteering that kids do.

I echo what grey said, good suggestions. The Lego games for sure, I highly recommend the Star Wars one. Our kids liked some of the Just Dance games, it's not for every kid though. Luigi's Mansion is fun, but it could be slightly difficult till they're a few years older. In that same vein Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is fun, but might be a slightly difficult for a few years until he trains his platforming skills. The Mario Party games, however, are generally great for the whole family and aren't too difficult...just don't be surprised if the game reverses fortunes and awards your kid the win after you've been pummeling them all game

I know I'm a little late, but the Steam Spring Sale ends tomorrow morning for anyone waiting for deals on their Wishlist.
I finally picked up Outer Wilds. I also got Sea of Stars, and I picked up Dragon's Dogma 2 for tomorrow.
I don't think I mentioned this during the last sale, but I got Divinity II: Original Sin finally. I also got Kenshi, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Vampire Survivors (I think @Cackalacky2.0 or someone suggested this one), Star Wars : Squadrons, and Monster Sanctuary on a whim because it was cheap.

Other than Dragon's Dogma 2 which will be occupying my time for a bit starting tomorrow, what should I play next based on the above? @greyhammer90 suggested Outer Wilds awhile back. I've still got Tales of Arise sitting in the library, I heard good things about it. I've still got Dragon's Age 2 and Dragon's Age: Inquisition sitting in there too.

As far as Helldivers 2, I hit level 50 on Tuesday and I got all my Samples. I'm still medal farming and playing to help buddies. There's a lot of cool stuff coming down the pipeline for that game and I love the Co-Op aspect of it, so I'll still be playing it for awhile. If anyone wants to help spread managed democracy, look for Ulukinatme in Steam or DM me and we'll swap Friend Codes.

Dragon's Dogma 2 just released at 8pm, currently installing. Been awhile since I've been this hyped for a game.
